I'm not Canadian but I love going over to Erie St., in Windsor for a great Italian meal and some good Canadian beer. Now if only the Canadian $$ would take a good dump, I'd go over more often.

Montreal here, looking to buy a Firestorm. Been looking since last summer but cannot find a nice minty one. I started a thread that I should have posted here. Did Canadian Firestorms ever get the larger fuel tanks in 2001?

Welcome kicker. No they did not. That was only in the UK. Up here finding a mint one is going to be tough. I know ones for sale for about 1500$, but needs a lot of TLC...but runs fine.

If i find one in the States, how complicated would it be to bring it across the border?

Well, very doable, but, allot of paper work at the border, then, obligatory mechanical inspection. Once that's done, it's a trip in a certified SAAQ inspection garage to have homologated for the road. By the time you're all done, it will cost a min. of about 300$.

I may be wrong (wouldn't be the first time) but I think all markets but North America got the larger tank in 2001 and onwards......

FWIW, the best time to buy a VTR in Quebec was three years ago when the geniuses at the SAAQ initially listed it as a sportbike, thereby lining owners up for ridicuous plate fees (a decision which was overturned the following year). THis led to many VTR owners (including two of my friends) dumping their bikes at ridiculously low prices..... Leave it to our omnipotent civil servants to solve the mysteries of the universe......
