cam swap

G'day all I'm new to this sit so sorry if this question has been asked befor i have recently purchased a '98vtr1000 from auctions, did a oil change amounst other things, oil that cam out was dirty but ok, went for a ride(stunting) for 1/2 a day, came back and changed the oil again, (bike had been sitting and wanted to get all the **** out of engine etc) but htis time had little slithers of steel in the oil, checked it out and found that the cams had been built up for a bigger grind and had started to fail,
NOW TO THE QUESTION???????????
will a set of sp1 cams retro fit into the earlier models, and if there are any tricks to it ( ie cam gear changes etc ) what they are.
Cheers clive

Here is a place that has them listed for the VTR.

Thats all I know. I have been looking at them but still undecided.

superhawk22 is an unknown quantity at this point
I don't think RC51 cams would work because I beieve that the RC's engine has gear driven cams and we have chain.
