On board video from my trackday
Just went to Streets of Willow this past Friday. I set up the camcorder tank mount that was the subject of a thread here awhile ago. Here's a short clip.

There's bound to be a track somewhere close by. There are speed freaks everywhere.
At worst, you could drive to Arizona. There are a few good tracks (from what I hear) there.
Getting that close doesn't always happen. Not sure what my friend was thinking, but we don't usually brake check each other like that. That crazy stuff is only for the racers.
Regarding the tank mount - I kept hitting my helmet on my camcorder when trying to tuck in at speed. This isn't a huge problem at smaller/slower tracks like this one, but I imagine all the wind resistance at a faster track would be exhausting for your neck muscles.
On my friend's Ducati, we were able to set up a bullet-cam which connected to the camcorder. This afforded a better view (without the cluster and w/s), but was more laborious. The Superhawk just doesn't have a big enough trunk to jam in (in my case) a camcorder. I bought the bulletcam from helmetcamera.com. I believe there are a few out there on the internet that are all-inclusive (bullet-cam + digital camcorder) for less than $300. That would be a cheap way to get some footage.

No problem, thought I'd share the addiction. For anyone else that interested I just did a google map search for race tracks in the southwest. Obviously you could do it for any region, the southeast has a lot of tracks.

Down here yes, flat as a pan cake but just north of me there are some great elevated roads and tracks. We're thinking of moving just north of Atlanta and there's like 6 tracks within 4-5 hours.

Yeah been all over that....trackdays are cool it's the racing that they won't cover. Guess I'll have to stretch the truth if I start racing like I want to, otherwise it's good old Lords of London.
