Hey, I added my power outlet directly to the batt. with an inline fuse of course. I know a few "electritions" thats what they told me to do anyway. My 2cents worth.

For one thing you can run straight to the battery. For two different things you might consider a Powerlet system that hooks up to the battery. I used the "rearset" mount, PKT043 was the part number. From that a plug runs up to the front of the bike and (when I'm using my tankbag) it runs into a splitter with two female cigarette lighter plugs. I run my radar detector and can also charge a cell phone etc.

Call Powerlet and talk to someone there. The guy I talked with told me what to order based on my needs. I can't find the receipt or I'd give you more specifics.
Powerlet: 877-752-7835 Chicago time 9:00-4:30.
Technical number 1-586-276-0906 might be your best bet. Lots of combinations available.
