Been a while...
Well up until about 2 weeks ago the ole Hawk has been sitting on stands for going on 2 yrs. Yeah I kept her charged and started up time to time but never showed her any love out on the road. Well finally cleaned her up,put on some new rubber and took her out for a little ride. But after the past couple years being on inline 4's it definitively was a change being back on a twin. Don't get me wrong I love the ole girl but it's hard to deny the power/speed of the inline's. So even though she may not be the top dog in the pack she still has a pretty good bark and I'll probably just keep her to be able to reflect back and enjoy every now and then.
Anyways since I've decided to just make her a occasional piece I've decided I'm gonna just sell off most of my extra's and upgrades I have bought for her and never got around to doing. I will be listing them in classifieds for sale as I dig them out and also I've decided to thin out my helmet collection some as it just isn't the same with my wife not being around anymore to surprise me with a new/different one popping up on my desk or truck seat every now and then just because she thought it was cool or I would like it.
But all in all it just goes to show you if you treat her right she always be there when you get the itch.

Glad you're keeping her around. My experience is the opposite. I like my twin over the i4. I guess just cause it's easier to ride and get good torque out of.
Looking forward to you opening the treasure chest!

Yeah, don't get me wrong I still like riding the hawk for fun. But when you increase the torque by say 40% and hp by 75% and only add less than 100lbs wet, it really is hard to compare the 2 I know. But it is a hard hurdle to get over.
