Bar end mirrors

My left mirror just came off today when I was on the freeway. I went to adjust it and it felt really loose and before I knew it, it was in my hands. The mirrors that were on there were some ugly things that the previous owner had put on there, but visability was great. Now that one has snapped off I have an excuse to put something else on. I am thinking about bar end mirrors because I think it would go well with the whole streetfighter look.
Does anyone have expeirience with them as far as visibility goes? I wouldnt think they are difficult to install. Is there something I sould look for when selecting new mirrors or are the generic ones at cycle gear good enough. I am not to big on how they look, I just want function and to be street legal.

Guys on the Ninja forum tend to like these ones, but as always, YMMV

The PO of my bike had bar end mirrors installed, so I don't know the make of mine, but they look just like these:

[link deleted, crazy long, go to http://www.motosport.com/street/index.php > Parts > Body Parts > Mirrors > CRG Blindsight Bar End Mirror 2"]

They work pretty well, took a bit of getting used to, though. It's less of a heads-up type thing. I found myself looking at where I thought the mirror should be, and then looking down to where it was. Took a bit of time to adjust to, but visibility is pretty good. I've tapped one or maybe two car mirrors when I was lane splitting, but they fold up easily enough, no harm, no foul. They never vibrated out of position but it was really easy to bump them. I tend to hang my helmet over the throttle side, and I was pretty careful about threading it through the face hole, but I would usually have to readjust it at least once a week.

Here's an idea of how they look:
