Back from Europe

Well after one month I'm finally back from Europe and my SH will follow shortly....well 3 weeks, but I probably had enough for now.

The bike arrived in perfect condition but later than expected..9 days later.

Since we had time to kill why not have fun, so we met a veterinarian that hosted us for all those days and showed us around in a 1942 Citroen traction, we became friends and hope he will come to see us in Canada so we can go snowmobiling. Wine, food that would freak out your doctor and wonderful sights.

We visited Paris and found out that if I was living there I would trade my VTR for a scooter since it's the almighty mean of transportation in there, they are just rushing trough the cars leaving clearances between the cars next to nothing.

So finally we hit the road before my leaver explode and rush to see my family in Italy.

Our first hotel 37 euros with secure parking.

The road was beautyful and quite long, in an effort to save money we ate a few meals bought at the grocery stores like this picture we are parked by a huge store close to Geneve.

The second night was in Nus Italy nice little town down the valley between the mountains past the Mont Blanc, 50 euros there.

When I first thought that I ate my chicken strips, I went with my cousin (Ducati monster 1000 AC) for some twisties in the Dolomites, my girlfriend wanted to come along, well she did not say anything but she bit her lower lip.
The strps were down to nothing and the rubber started to peel off the tire...
Of course no pics but good memories, after we visited Udine witch is a nice clean and quiet city.

While there we visited Venise where the buses are boats and that the guys with gondolas try to rip you off ti get stuck in the boat mess....we watched...

Next we went for a ride at Grado for some beach.

The next day we went to see a huge cave in Slovenia, unfortunately we could not take picture in the cave but at the end I took a few. Slovenia is beautiful, simple, natural, mostly un-touristic.

Then the same day we went to Trieste witch is the city that people drive the worst, really close to Paris and Genova.

The next day, we went to Austria, trough the Passo pramollo North of Udine. The road was not wide enough for two cars at some points and I had to let slip the clutch on the first gear to make it trough the corners, the motor hit the ground a few times inside the hairpin and when the ground was nicer, Some grass that was 2 foot long hitted my hand while going trough a corner. My Girlfriend was in the back and probably have enjoyed more the sight than the curves themselves.

Then after we went down to the other side, we finally ordered beer and food in german for dinner.

Beautiful Austria

A few days later we left taking the long way out, from Udine we went trough the traffic of the Northern Italians that were returning from vacation in the south, damn, I never committed so much infractions but everyone is doing it and the cars move over to let you pass so WTF let's go...until we deverved food, drink and a bed. The heat was unbearable (110 F) so we ditched the protective gear and took it slower.

With the gifts it was a problem to reload the bike and to visit cities we put the bike in secure locations like an underground parking lot with cameras. We tried to lock it with what we had but had no problems.

The monument are so huge that I could not take the whole thing in a single shot, look how small people are compared to this thing...

Pisa

The coast

Monaco, pic from a nice twisty road up the top.

Cannes for lunch break 30 Euros but worth it tons of stars pictures on the walls, I supposed that they are everywhere during the festivals but who cares, their lemon pie is just insane.

Fellow riders that had us for dinner, get drunk, sleep, breakfast, his wife rides a CBR600 and ate the tires on the strip, the rubber were hanging from the side of the tire, no ordinary chick, I tell ya.

How wonderful! What a great vacation! Thanks for sharing such a great experience. These kinds of things help me vision trips for other riders from afar. I will help - profit little. Experince Utah.

Thanks, I wish and definitely insist on everyone to make one, make it your way,how long you can, how much you can, where you want to go and go explore, meet people, it's great.

As for the quebec plate, many people passed whispering "Quebec...", many talked to me about it and I had not a single time talked to a police officer.

What shipper did you use for your bike? I also need to ship mine from Europe to Canada and am having problems finding anyone to do it.

I used ECU line try EOL as an agent. I'll try to find the phone number for you but try to google it to find an agen close to your aera.

Here are some videos of me and my girlfriend going down the curvy roads in Austria, it don't look fast, but it took all the tire thread.

First part

Second Part

Some footage that was boring at normal speed at twice the speed.

I don't remember enjoying a thread this much since I've been a member on any forum. Thanks for sharing your trip. You'll be talking about this for a long long time.

Thanks for sharing such a great trip. I experienced Paris about a year ago and you aren't kiddin' when you say they drive their scooters centimeters away from other cars. I'm glad you had a wonderful time!

Thanks !!!
The pictures were taken with a 3 years old Nikon coolpix 5200, so it's not the camera that makes the pics. I adjusted some colors and levels with photoshop on about half the pics.
Here's one of my favorites, just not posted because not motorcycle related.

Two other videos that I forgot to put here, but because of hard drive space problems I can't edit my favorite video for now

This one is at double speed for interest

Thanks for such a great effort to include us in your travels. I almost feel like I've been on vacation. Bravo on your riding skills and for a couple times I had to remind myself that you were two-up! Glad you're home safe!

I think you should definitely marry your girlfriend- any girl who would put up with a ride for that amount of time on the back of your Superhawk is a "keeper" in my book! Wow! Fantastic pics and video as well!

She's flattered even if her butt still remember
When going down the Passo Pramollo I thought she was freaking out silently, but when the camera went off to the right on the second part, I could see her in the mirror looking around the beautiful sight !!
