Does anyone have any experience with or opinions of the Aprilia Falco? There is a huge amount of credible knowledge on this forum and I'd like to hear what you have to say. I may have an opportunity to buy one at a good price but I'll have to sacrifice the 'Hawk to do it. Thanks

 

Never actually rode one. Almost bought two different ones though, but they just wanted too much for them. One's still for sale in pt st lucie, a black '01 that's been for sale since last year (down to $4k from a ridiculous $6500). Wouldn't happen to be the same one would it? Heard and read lots of good things about them. When I was shopping around I know I found several good comparisons online. I'd imagine the pro's stock for stock for the falco are it's fuel injected, the suspension & brakes are probably a little better, plus it's a pretty rare (and imho a pretty darn fine looking) bike. But the superhawk can be had for nearly half the price and parts are much easier and cheaper to come by.

 

An assistant service manager at the Honda dealer I go to has one he bought new, and he loves it. It's not his only bike though. And he says he hopes he never crashes it, since parts would be near impossible to get.

 

I've been eyeballing that one for awhile. My nephew in Knoxville told me about someone he knows that might sell one soon and I'm going up there anyway for a long weekend. I have a lot of respect for Aprilia's, a ride on a friends RSVR Mille is what brought me to the Superhawk and this site.

 

I was going to buy it for my girlfriend last Christmas, but I told him he was slightly mad at $6500. If he would've sold it for 4k then I probably would've bought it. Just as well, I ended up getting her a nearly mint 8k mile black '99 superhawk for $2100.

 

I have always been fond of them and the reviews I have read have all been quite good. My main concern would be parts availability and spotty dealer network.
