Man, that would be a great bike for the GF! It doesn't say how many miles but looks like it's in good shape. That's an aftermarket hi-mount isn't it?

"Currently not running."

Could be a myriad of problems.

But tempting...

You're right there, Marm! It's like that FZR400 that I spotted a couple months ago here - looked great but . . . Guy wanted $2750 and was firm on his price until he was on his third go-around with the carbs. Could have been had for $2200 by the time he said Uncle.

parts aren't too expensive for those since they're so common in japan. I'm betting if he's honest about letting it sit, that it probably needs a battery charge, some carb cleaning, and new gas

That is actually the stock exhaust. They are pretty nice, but the frame is more like the USA vfr500 than vfr400r (nc30). Wheels are skinny 18 rear, skinny 17 front, like 110 and 90 widths. Still, makes great music when it's on the pipe, and lotsa torque for a 400. Should be 50-60hp (stock).

If you have never ridden a nc30 i can tell you there an awesome machine so flickable and light, very quick for a 400 and the amount of corner speed you can carry is amazing, perfect for getting your knee down and embarrassing the bigger sports bike and the sound of a v4 is something else.Still an amazing bike today, styling, handling nuff said!!!!!!

I'm saving up my pennies for a 30 or a 45. It's hard to find one, though, since everyone else wants it too.

Let me know if you find someone willing to ship one across the pond. I'd love to get my fat grubby hands on another museum piece.

Well I don't know what you cheap source of parts is. Please tell.

I wouldn't suggest this model to anyone in the USA except a true enthusiast of the breed. It's very old, even parts for US spec models (750) are drying up or gone or are prohibitively expensive.

It's cool tho'. I STUPIDLY passed on a rough nc35 that showed up at a local dealership. I'll probably never see another one down here again.

I agree the rc30 /45 (750) is extremely expensive i have seen them at a starting price on ebay for 10,000 pounds + for a 20 year old bike but ohhhhhh what a bike i'd sell my wife for one lol

Import?

Does anyone know if it is possible to import a nc30/45 from europe/japan back to the USA and have it street legal to register/ride?
I'd love to have one.
Were they ever produced by Honda for the U.S. market? If so, what years?

never imported by honda, but many have been brought in. It would be cheaper to buy one already here, and many are plated. SanFran seems to be a hot bed for the grey market bikes, so watch on BARF (bayarearidersforum)classifieds, ebay gets them as well. expect to pay 5k ish for a good one.

this one is plated
