Any Aprilia Lovers?
Been eyeing this RSVR for a while. Anybody else like or own an Aprilia?

Absolutely ! ! yet, settled for the poor-man's v-twin superbike (RC-51s)
But , I would sell both of the RC-51s , to purchase a RSV4.Aprilia What a motorcycle !
THEN !- Maturity comes about and even selling both bikes(2003,2006) at the top of market value... I would have still have to come up with half of the cost of the RSV4..

Don't think you'll find many, if any Aprilia haters, lol...
I'd love to try one, but ergonomically, it might not be the best choice for me. I'm 6'3" and thin, so I'd look like a spider riding the RSV4.

Really?! I've seen some RC's go for around $4-6k and there are some nice older model Mille's on the AF1 forum for less than that. There is an 02 RSVR for sale for around $4800 on there right now. I'm going to try and stay 04 and above just for the suspension changes they made that year but still under $6-7k
And setting aside the price differences, the RSVR Mille is roughly the same size as a Duc 1098/1198, ie slightly smaller and a bit more cramped than the RC51...
The RSV4 makes the average 600 bike seem like a Harley Electra whatever glide... It's tiny... I have sat on larger 250 bikes than that thing... Granted they where to large and to heavy for their engine, but it says a lot about the tiny size of the RSV4...
I'm 6'2", and believe me, I looked outrigth silly trying to crawl around on top of that tiny bike and finding a comfortable position... And then, once i had gotten somewhat settled, and opened the taps, I was once again crawling around trying not to fall of it, because it came alive like a minor explosion, no waiting around for the revs to build up, straigth from cruising to mental speed with nothing in between...
The mille is twice the size, and half the engine... Much like the RC51's younger racier cousin... The RSV4 is a 1000cc V4 with slightl antisocial tendencies crammed into a downscaled 600cc chassie... It would make one hell of a trackbike for me once i had the pegs and handlebars sorted, but anything past going to the local strip to hang out would probably be torture for my body...

I really like Aprilia's. I actually prefer the older style. The first gen models 98-2003 are a lot larger and roomy than the 2nd gen from 2004 onwards. Very little difference in power. Engine's are very relieable. The twin's have a few well know electrical gremlins. But like our superhawk are easy to fix.
If you look around you can pick up some great deal's on early model RSV-R's with all the good bits. APRILIA RSV mille R ****low mileage*** You can get much better deals than this if you look around. Great bikes. Enjoy.
Hell for $8999 you can have a brand new 09 model!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2009-...item336d5e5c1b

Well baby steps for me. The RSV4 would probably be too much for my skill and maturity level. A ride on an ole fat girl would be fun but still not get me killed...(puns intentional)
Get the one that makes you feel good. They've all got more power/performance than anyone could ever use on a road. A 100hp 600cc will get you into trouble just as fast as a 1000, it's all up to the nut in the seat.
