Another VTR with RC fairings

My friend decided to swap his fairings on his '99 vtr over to RC track fairings in my garage. He wants to do a little novice middleweight racing this year so hes remolding the belly pan, the center section of the pan had to be cut out because of the exhaust pipes hanging a little low. I think we're going to tackle the task of making an under tail as well.

I thought Id share, I think this was the website where I originally found out about the swap back in 2009. Ill throw up more pics as this progresses.

Im certainly not a fan of hotbodies after seeing their race plastics. Sharkskinz destroys this crap. My $400 e-racings fairings for my zx10r are better than this stuff..

Cool build. I second the feeling about Hotbodies. Got a set for the 675 track bike, crapy fit and build. Had Attack track fairings on an sv, truly amazing stuff.

Thanks for the picture, really motivated now. Been looking at some fairing pretty expensive. Saving for it, I"m sure i can get it this summer. I found some on ebay full set for 550 don't really need the whole set but thats what it is. trying to buy it in pieces is more expensive. I was thinking about getting a new bike but this will be cheaper.

Those look very, very nice! I was always tempted to try the original Hayabusa's bodywork (new one looks funky) on the Hawk. Loved the look when I had one, but she was a BIG girl and rode like it. The trick was lining things up with the tank if I recall, but maybe I'd have better luck with the chunkier VFR tank now.

Always torn between naked, semi, and fully faired bikes. Should just get one of each

I stopped by my friends place today, he finally mounted up his track fairings. Looks pretty damn good IMO! I dont know how it works with stock clip on's, but there are no clearance issues with an aftermarket vortex set.

Getting pretty close with my 10r too... I think Im replacing my slipon with a LOR pipe, the FMF might end up on the VTR. It just sounds wrong with the stock equipment on there!
