Another FNG...
New guy here in north Las Vegas.
I picked up a VTR that hasn't been started in 5 years. I know the basics of bikes, but my history is more with inline fours. I will need to disassemble the carbs to clean and recondition things.
Are there any heads-up warnings or even better, an easy route to removing them? There's so much crap under the airbox, and I don't want to take any more off than I need to. Do the carbs come off still bolted together as a pair?
TIA!!

There's some good information in the Knowledge Base: a service manual which can be downloaded and articles on PAIR removal and setting the Throttle Position Sensor. 8541Hawk's thread on carb setup which is a sticky in the Technical Discussion subforum is essential reading also.

Take reference photos as you go along and mark the various pipes, tubes and hoses as they can get confusing, which could lead to interesting & head-scratching running problems if inadvertently relocated.
While you've got the tank, airbox and carb off and access, fit a vacuum takeoff fitting to the front cylinder so you can easily balance the carbs when its all back together.

VTR1000F Honda Service Manual OCR.pdf
Removed restrictions in the Honda Superhawk (Firestorm) Service Manual PDF and was able to run it through OCR so the manual is now text searchable - Enjoy
