Young whipper snapper.

I took mine out on my 55th a couple of weeks ago. Cold as hell but it made me feel a lot younger. I've noticed that the girls look a lot until I take my helmet off

Yeah, nice to have a little break in the weather. Up to mid-forties last Sat, took the XR dual sport for a 100 mi jaunt with ATV grip covers which helped keep the wind off the hands(had to remove the hand guards to get them on), but definitely worth it. Good practice sliding the XR around on the dirty roads.

Have an idea for quick temporary chains for the dual sport, but didn't get a chance to try them out yet because snow removed too soon. Get 14 pieces of dog size chain, cut to 4" lengths, and some heavy plastic ties. Place them about 12" intervals, tighten on tires inflated to 15lbs. and go like hell. Next snow, it's gonna happen.

Got the SH out for a short spin after riding the XR to assess recently sync'd carbs(sync'd with home-made tool). Noticeable difference in smoothness at idle, and strong all the way thru the rpm range with no hiccups or decel pops.

Nice to sneak a little ride in despite the ice in the drive way.

It was nice to get around NJ this weekend on the SH. The wife wanted to put Christmas stuff away and then she found more to do but I got away for a bit to the gym and the long drive to find some Stabil. It was nice to get back on and drive as compared to "just let it run for a bit". Motorcycle show in a few days, will be there after work on Friday.

Florida dropped down into the mid-twenties just as I completed the installation of a new stator, R/R and battery. Think I could wait until the cold snap passed? Hah!

Right now I have a working definition of hypothermia complete with transient shivers, numbed iced digits and fogged reasoning (don't know it that wasn't a previous fault).

But she charges at 14+ volts and at the end of the ride the battery reads 12.86 vdc on the vom. The spousal unit describes me to her sister as 'nuts', but I am used to that, 'sides, since I found this site I'm not alone.

I get the same descriptor, "nuts", to which I reply, "you're right, and that's one of my best attributes". Keep up the good work!

okay, that's it. you are "nuts" for real. HaHaHa. i love it though. I suppose you rode in the direction of the Arctic Circle just to prove it too, huh. I guess we're just a bunch of wimps here in PA.

I'm pretty sure he was talking about 2C not 2F... That equals about 35F is memory serves, so about equal with all you other loonies...

Me... I'd be out there to if there wasn't this pesky layer of 3-5" of white horrible stuff falling every other day...

Thanks for exposing the Centigrade Farenheit thing. I guess that puts us all in the same boat, which means we're all a little "nuts", huh.

Actually i'm waiting for some of that white stuff on the roads so I can try snow chains on my dual sport.
