46,492 miles to much?
Hi all from Hawaii, was a member back years ago and came across a hawk on CL here. Was thinking of pulling the trigger and jumping back on, whats your thoughts?
2000 VTR 1000
already has the mcct done which is nice, and a few other goodies, I see a resi rear shock too. I'm more worried about miles, compression, etc. Price seems pretty fair though.
Thoughts???

From the pictures it looks to be in pretty good shape. 100k is deffinately not too much, just check for the normal things that should be checked when buying a used bike. Also if you do pick it up I would find out if the forks were sprung and valved to match the shock if not that would be the first thing I would do.

Yeah, I was more worried about the rings, valve springs etc. Maybe even all the wheel bearings, steering head, hoses, etc.....Going to go look at it this afternoon to get a better idea of the condition.

Years ago? You trying to make us feel [even more] old?
Looks like a good Hawk from pics/description. As stated, miles aren't an issue if the bike has been taken care of w/ regular maintenance. First things I spot are missing fairing decals which could indicate an off, and the Dynojet sticker. Carbs may not be optimal but a test ride will shed some light there.

Looks ok,
I’d be tempted to replace when bearings and otherconsumables and fluids if for no other reason than you know they’ve been done.
I thought 2001 + had black wheels?
