2002 yamaha r1 or 2002 gsxr1000

since i dont own a superhawk anymore and cant find any in my area i am thing about I4 liter bikes. found a 2002 yamaha r1 for about $5000 with 19k i think and has road rash on one spot under mirror but the sliders to the rest. has a mig high mount and the bike looks nice. just wondering if anybody has experience with a R1 of that area or knows of problems and so on. On craiglist i just found a 2002 suzuki gsxr1000 with 34k for $4800 obo or trade for car/suv. i am looking to sell my 98 wrangler to fund a bike anyways so this became interesting to me.

I am 19 and dont have much credit to my name so a $5k loan or even a $3k loan would be out of the question because of my age and credit. I have worked with my current employer for almost 4 years now and full time so that may help a little but i dont know how much it really would though without a co signer.

really just asking whats pros and cons about both bike if anyone knows anything about either.

edit: heres the suzuki ad CLICK THIS!

edit 2: after going through a review i may just look for a 929 as well haha.

Take more time to look - I think you can find better prices/mileage. Keeping looking at Craigslist, check Ebay ... don you know of Adventure Rider? It's a forum with worldwide membership, mostly leaning towards dual sports, but you can find a range of bikes for sale in the 'flea market' section.

For me, I'd be tempted to go with the GSXR, but I don't know the specs, honestly.

after reading reviews the gsxr is a little better at everything. if i weight ill have time to save up money and there will be a better deal. hell maybe even an rc51 will fall into the price range haha.
