Thumbs up 2001 Superhawk first ride!!

As a previous RC51 owner my preconceived thoughts on the superhawk was that it was going to be soft, slow and basically a diluted version of the RC51...all i can say is wow, i was wrong..I loved the ergo's of the SHawk, the low down torque seemed much more apparent than my SP1 RC and the suspension wasn't as bad as i had thought*(still needs springs & valves) but all in all i was very impressed with the ride..although i could not push it much(34 degrees out) i had a pleasant ride and cant wait to start working on it. .

Welcome to the board. There have been previous conversations amongst the members over the RC51 and the Superhawk. I think there would be a consensus if both machines could be dismantled and offered on a buffet everyone could make a perfect motorcycle out of it. Some would soften the RC51 (doesn't work) and others would go to great lengths to bring the horsepower, suspension strength, and agility of the RC51 to the Superhawk. What most of us do is mod our way out of the deficiencies of the 'Hawk because most of us enjoy the comforts of the streets and the country roads less (or more occasionally) the track. Not that the Superhawk is any stranger to the track but I think for guys that are really after the racing experience the RC51 is the machine. BTW there is another member from RC - great country out there - been there many times.

IMO: The SuperHawk is a GREAT streetbike. The RC is a GREAT trackbike. Both can do the other "thing" but then they aren't so great.

Welcome and let the mods begin! :-)

That's right 'Bling! I just remembered the other member from Rapid City. It's Nanotech. Although I think he has the faster colored one.
