fairing attachments
Hi this is ebulloc1, I am new to the forum. I am from the Northeastern part of the US and am a relatively new superhawk owner. I purchased a new 2004 shawk last year and was able to get 10,000 miles in the 1st year. I love it if you can't tell.
I am having some problems with the plastic screws holding the fairings on, I have replace about 10 already. I know with the vibration of the v-twin doesn't help, but is there anything I can do? I have numerous postings on the forum and things have been veyr helpful...Thanks to all

Re: fairing attachments
Hmm, I've never lost one.
Maybe your not tightening enough but it doesn't take much anyway; try some LOW strength locktite. Or maybe your motor needs a carb sync and/or torquing of the mounts to reduce vibration.
Do you leave it parked outside at home or work? You could have a practical joker or thief messing with you.

I never had that problem either. But then again I think all my bolts/screws are metal, not plastic. The only plastic ones I remember are on the bottom side of the tail fairing.
I dont know how locktite would work with plastic screws/bolts?
