USS Constitution Tour (Sat. Aug 23rd)
Hey everybody. Since I have duty on Saturday and can't ride I thought I would see if anyone would like to come out to Boston and get a special tour (free) of USS Constitution. Either 9am or after 6pm. Either time is fine since I'll be there all day and night. (For those that don't know I am active duty Navy stationed on the USS Constitution). I posted the invite on NESR forum also. Let me know if your coming so I can meet you at the gate (where the sailor is standing watch). Also, if there aren't to many bikes coming I can try to get you access to park in the Navy Yard through the National Park Service (try to keep your bike off the streets in Charlestown). Just PM me your name (first and last), plate #, and bike color. For directions go to www.oldironsides.com and click on "visitor info".
If you can't make this but want to set something up in the future for the fam. or something I am the events coordinator and can set that up for you. Just let me know or go to the special events link on the website.

Sorry guys. If Congress reverses the law they passed in 1952 keeping the ship confined to Boston Harbor we'd have the studdingsails out and be on our way North Carolina followed by Washington State. It probably wont be in my lifetime though.

I would go if it was in San Diego.
When I was in the Navy in 1968 on shore duty at a radio station in Imperial Beach, the USS Enterprise was back from Viet Nam and docked at Coronado. They opened her up for tours, but I didn't go. Big mistake I've regretted ever since.

I Re-enlisted there last Oct. A private tour is very cool, you get to see stuff that the folks on the regular tour don't.
Not sure if I can make it this weekend. I would too, i'll let you know.
