"Season's greeting" is politically correct, for metrosexuals wishing to interface with the stakeholders of diverse and multicultural communities etc., ad nauseum.

For the rest of us, it's "Merry Christmas".

huh? so according to you, metrosexuals are non-Christians? since Christmas is a christian holiday. I'm just trying to respect peoples beliefs. I usually say Happy holidays or Seasons greetings to people i don't know.

No, not just metrosexuals. I believe the intent was, that for decades perhaps centuries, "Merry Christmas" was used and accepted everywhere. It is only in todays "politically correct" world that we are so afraid of offending others.

If someone of the Jewish faith walked up to me and said "Happy Hanukkah", I would not be offended even though I do not believe in the Jewish faith. I would reply with a "Merry Christmas".

Instead of accepting it as a cheery "happy holidays" according to the religion that they believe, many "politically correct" people are saying they are offended.

Here is food for thought on "political correctness", you may have seen it:

Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds for the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Merry Christmas. If you are offended by that, it is because you choose to be, not because I intended it to be.

oh, i don't take it personally at all! I'm just saying that's what I do! I don't have the slightest problem with people telling me Merry Christmas. Hell i was raised Catholic.I am confused though what RK1's post really meant, i guess it kinda went over my head. why are both of you saying seasons greetings is a 'metrosexual' thing to say? i don't get it.

I try and guess what he was thinking. A metrosexual lives inbetween two worlds, the masculine and feminine. The politically correct are trying to live inbetween multiple worlds so that they don't offend anyone.

The big point, I think is, and how the unpolitically correct think, be yourself and be willing to answer for what you say or do, instead trynig to please everyone.

It will take his exact definition.

I didn't mean to imply that you might be offended, I knew you weren't. My last sentence was for anyone who finds fault with me saying Merry Christmas.

If you choose to say Happy Holidays to those you don't know, I find that perfectly acceptable. To try and figure out what they might be so that you can use the appropriate term, that's nice, but shouldn't be necessary. The receiver should realize the intent, not the terms.

You are aware that that site and its creator, Jim Hoffman, do not subscribe to the official 9/11 story? It is a nice website and Hoffman is very, very conservative in his approach to the truth about 9/11.

Just look at the pretty pictures, esp. American Eagle Flight 4184 and add about 200mph and a **** load more fuel and keep telling us that the plane(s) was/were faked.

Political correctnes can kiss my hairy behind...

We as a collective spend an inordinate amount of time trying to prevent offending any and all... And I find that offensive!!!

I'm an indiviual... There are no-one quite like me... Anywhere... My beliefs may or may not be the same as the one I meet... But that's his or hers problem as far as I'm concerned... (or it's depending on circumstances...) If someone find's my beliefs offensive that won't bother me the least... I won't be bothered by theirs...

The exception from that general rule is the one's that try to push their beliefs on others... That's something I consider extremely rude, and that means I regard it as my right to respond in kind (being rude, not pushing my beliefs on them, that is...) Also freaks that have beliefs that are not normaly accepable in society...

So... In closing... A Merry Christmas to you all...

Heh. I didn't direct the "metro" comment at anybody in particular, but for nobody in particular who might be feeling SENSITIVE about it I'd suggest giving up the pedicures and the trips to the tanning salon!

To All My Democrat (Liberal) Friends:
Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an
environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive,
gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within
the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or
secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular
persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious
or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful,
personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the
generally accepted calendar year 2009, but not without due respect for the
calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped
make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any
other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. Also, this
wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

To My Republican (Conservative) Friends:

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
