This was yesturday just before night fall.

 

I am about 30 miles from home and nobody around to pull me out.

 

My wife is with me so i cant call her, although she is leaned up against the fence laughing at me...

 

called several friends but no one answers their phones...

 

so i finally get ahold of my daughter who drives out to pick us up, it is about 8:30pm before she arrives and it was COLD! Good thing the wife likes to cuddle to stay warm, lol.

 

This makes for a good time, sorta like running out of gas way back in the woods with your date....Hahahaha.

 

Anyway, i have a tractor that is going to meet me at the ranch this afternoon to extract my truck.

 

Had to drive my son's Camaro to work this morning, damn i forgot how little those cars are on the inside!

 

My Honda is now going to be pulling double duty as a rancher and aircraft tug!

I guess that's one way of learning your new property - get stuck, strand the wife and have to call the kids to save yo' asses.

I'll bet they can't wait until you retire.

Now that you've joined the ranks of the landed gentry, it might be time to trade in that cityboy truck for a proper 4WD.

 

Yep, that's what i was thinking. Just so happens that this is the first truck that i have ever owned that was not a 4x4, go figure! But i was not planning on buying any acreage when i bought the truck. Wonder how upside down i am, as i only bought it about 5 months ago .

 

I am thinking that i should give them as much **** when i retire as they gave me growing up! Karma's a bitch .

 

Oh yeah, got the truck out yesturday.

 

Pictures may be a little misleading, the ground looks stable but as soon as you break through the surface layer...there is no bottom! You just instantly sink to the axles.

 

Naw, I'm going to let their irreverant children do that for me. Now that's payback!

At lunch time yesturday, i tell my wife i'm going shopping for another truck...

 

but i didn't!

 

Just so happen's that my friend Mike comes to visit me and he drives up in his "farm truck"!

 

sooo, i ask him if i could borrow it from him for a few hours...

 

I drive this thing home last night and tell my wife i got rid of the pickup and got me something more useful at the ranch...

She is like, NO YOU DIDN'T! I was like, YES I DID! and went on in the house and sat in my recliner.

 

She comes back in the house a few minutes later and say's, Your just kidding, right?

Nope, it's all mine...Done signed all the paperwork.

 

About 20 minutes later she walks back outside then come back in saying "theres no backseat! That thing is gonna suck on road trips!"

 

I tell her i was planning on mounting a nice recliner behind the cab and that it gets about 13mpg... She is still not impressed!

 

I waited 2 1/2 hours before i told her it was not mine... oh well.

 

Got a guy going to the auto auction for me next wednesday, i guess i will have to wait and see what he finds.

 

Man you get that thing stuck at the ranch you might as well make a flower pot out of it. That would be a bitch to get out!
