Input needed from Florida brothers
Me and a bud are thinking of trailering our steeds down to FL from the GWN (Great White North) in late January or early February and need a safe/secure place to park/store the car & trailer for a week or so. Anywhere from the FL state line south to even with Daytona's latitude or so would do. We are interested in hitting the nicest coast roads (which are better Gulf or Atlantic sides?) and maybe the Everglades and try to get down to the Keys.
Any input, suggestions, park/storage locations would be greatly appreciated.
I saw FL was in the 20s & 30s. Don't feel too bad though because our high this week will maybe reach 25 and at night its about 0 + windchill.

+1 i am thinking about a ride down there this winter too! and here in MN we just got 20 inches of snow and i woke up yesterday to -7 without wind
please some good news from the warmer states!
The gulf coast roads are less crowded, from Tampa north and up through the big bend to about Panama City. Scenic, flat, two lane, small towns, think of the area the final scenes of "Easy Rider" were shot in, (sorry about the pun). But. . .so much of the law enforcement is of the 'Bubba Buttcrack' family I would advise caution dosed with politeness when stopped.
The Atlantic coast side is over developed and so crowded with condo commandos that it becomes unpleasant to cruise.
Pensacola to Key West is almost eight hundred miles. Quite a trip. And the Everglades are stunning in the primitive aspect of the topography. Discovery channel/alligator stuff. Lotsa fish camps but a lack of two wheeled support.
I like the Keys, but that takes money. A lot of money to do it really well.
I imagine you are intending to trailer the bikes and gear, then store the car and trailer. Stor-it parks are plentiful. For the west side of the state I would suggest finding one in the Gainesville area, that would give you a day's ride to big bend, gulf coast, crystal river etc.
Bring your snowmobile gear, sure, its Florida, but above Orlando it still freezes in Jan & Feb.
Happy trails.

I'm with PUSHrod>>>>> The Big Bend is a great place to ride . Also South Georgia is great. I'm in Tallahassee which is about 35 miles south of GA border and 35 north of the coast. Mornings are cold, but warms up fairly quick. We accept for the last yrs. Look around Tally, Panama City Pensacola, and ride the Gulf Coast down the the Glades, you wont regret it at all.
