That's pretty sweet. Infact its fantastic and I think it should be implemented into more helmets. The only thing I can see is that it seems to bloxk out the view of the road further down. But I'm sure tilting your head up a bit would solve that. Although it could cause an issue in a nice deep tuck. I'd love to try one out

It really shouldn't cause any issues with forward view... If you look at where the optics are located, it sits basicly at the upper edge where the edge of the shell/liner usually blocks your view forward anyway... You know, you usually ignore that part, but you can see the liner...

And even in a deep tuck, when looking forward you generally keep the head level or about level with the road... And when you do that the rearview is also level with the road...

I'd actually like to buy one, as long as I could stick one on my noggin first and see if it has a reasonable fit for me, as I tend to have issues with pressure points in some helmet shapes...

Pretty cool and amazingly simple. No electronics to go bad, get wet or provide power to is a good thing.
I wonder if it fogs up in cold, moist weather like faceshields do.

That is pretty sweet, I could see tech like this becoming the next big thing in helmets, forget blutooth I would take one of these instead.

I doubt it since the channel is part of the vent system as well...

If they sell well enough then the price will come down so that we can each afford our own.

well the concept is simple, the execution is different matter, its still got to protect your head, and not be too large or heavy, but at least its simple.

It seems to be good but would take some getting used to I am sure.

Why are they driving on the wrong side of the road?

Really, you used to make helmets in school when you were six?
It's really easy to knock something for being "simple", but if you weren't there to experience the design and development process you have no idea. All you get to see is the final design. You didn't see the first concept, nor do you know what roadblocks they ran into. How many helmets are there out there with a big window in the back of the shell? I bet that took some work to get right while maintaining the integrity of the shell. How much do you think they spent crash testing it? Getting it through govt. certifications for sale, or developing a manufacturing process? Really man, think.

I bought A Reevu helmet. So far I am biased, but will refrain from sharing my opinions until I actually ride with it.

I attempted to try an xl size reevu ...way to tight. Dealer is waiting for xxl to arrive then I'll try again. They are going for $399 here. Seems like a great idea as I'm tired of seeing my elbows in my mirrors.

I'd be interested in a review. I read a magazine review and they seemed to like it, but I don't trust the mags that much anymore.

I rode around the neighborhood with it today. It will take some time to get used to it. The manufacturer probably states this some where, but I think it is definitely not a substitute to side mirrors. I think it is a good supplement. Overall, the price is steep for what you get, but I think I will keep it.

The you tube video has been removed due to infringement issues.
Do you have any pics since I missed the whole thing?

sorry folks. but i don't need a g**damn, expensive as hell helmet to see what's behind me. that's what my right mirror is for. plus, that rear panel would probably get scratched up or cracked pretty damn fast. it's a horrendously overpriced gimmick in my opinion. it ain't even SNELL.

[EDIT ADDITIONAL COMMENT] sorry. i can't help myself. a bit of tequila, i guess has me in a non-compromising mood (i.e., ornery state of mind). my choice of music tonight probably hasn't contributed to a feeling of diplomacy ("The Cramps" [it's about the 1 year anniversary of Plush Interior's untimely death], Arizona's own "The Feederz", "The John Spencer Blues Explosion", "Lords of the New Church", etc.). oh. i went to see "A Better Life" earlier this evening. it get's fred's ****. i highly recommend it.

you want a rear-view mirror that bad, then drive a cage [Toyota Hybrid Excluded], they have them stock.

yours truly,

--fred
