Brag about your kids who ride thread!
Was digging through my toolbox this morning before i came to work and found some old pictures of my son riding when he was younger. (he is now 17) With all the negative threads lately, it would be nice to bring back some good memories
.
I'll go first, these were when he first started riding and racing. I think he was about 6 yrs old on the Yamaha PW50 and about 8 yrs old on the KTM ProSr 50. I just scanned these from some old pic's so quality is not there!

He want to be a "Train Engineer", i dont know what get's into these kids.
Great idea for a thread, KD. Good enough I'll chime in even though I don't have biological kids, at least none I know of!
Got a nephew in spirit, good friend's son. Known him since he was about 2 feet tall. Used to babysit him and his sister. Helped teach him how to shoot (and pick up brass at the range). He just got back from his USMC tour in Iraq with a big fat bonus check. He was riding his Ninja 250 before he left. I asked him what he was gonna buy, a bigger Ninja, a CBR, a Gixxer? Nope. "Everybody has one of those, I want something different."
He's riding a mildly modified, minty '89 Yamaha FJ1200. I dug up an old CYCLE MAGAZINE with the dyno chart for the FJ. Overlaid it on the VTR chart. Looks like the same engine. Smart kid.

Well... My Daughter has been racing Off-Road (Hare Scrambles) since she was 5 years old and now she is 20 years old and going to College in Texas and still racing when she can.
She has 3 AMA #1 plates and a million other trophies. Also she can ride the hell out of a sportbike... I know it sounds hypocritical but I don't like her riding on the street.

I just noticed that some of you guys are in Texas... I lived in Houston untill 2004 when I moved to Ohio, Myself and my Daughter did alot of off-road racing down there. I wonder if we raced with anybody from this forum?
Man, I know exactly how you feel. I have no problem with him riding dirtbikes, but i am scared to death to let him out on the street on a sportbike. I bought him a Ninja 500 a couple years ago to get the feel of how he was going to behave on the street. Needless to say, he was jumping it, riding wheelies, and i sold it a few months ago! He's crying for another one, but if he got hurt it would kill me.
