2 pics from Tail of the Dragon
My son (13) and I went to the Tail of the Dragon a few weekends back. We trailered the CBR 1000 F and rode Friday and Saturday. We had a BLAST!
He is a great passenger and I got to do one good solo run.
The CBR in the pics is a 1990 (built Nov-1989).
It still looks brand new - folks who don't know much about bikes sometimes think it IS brand new.
Bone stock bike except for Sta-in-tune stainless slip-ons and 10 weight fork oil.
Tires are Michelin Pilot Roads (32 psi rear / 30 psi front).
They do get HOT and stick very well. These tire do great in this application; the weight of the bike (approx 560 lbs) and me ((180 lbs plus leahers, boots, etc) and my son (when he is on 140 lbs plus his suit, etc) all adds up to around 900 lbs.
All-in-all, a good package, that performs SUPRISINGLY well, and all bought at a reasonable price.
I share these pics only because I like seeing other's pics and I'm guessing some of you guys have a kid who might ride with you.
ANyways, here goes.......

Cool, nice leanage dude,
I took my son to Laguna Seca this year.
L.A. to San Rafael (stay the night) to Monterey and back to L.A. all backroads.
I borrowed a Concourse to do it on.

Re: 2 pics from Tail of the Dragon
Thanks for the comments guys. Regarding Alex leaning with me: when we first went to The Tail of the Dragon last year, I told him to pretend he was stuck to my back with velcro: where I go, he goes. It worked perfectly.
Also, I told him NEVER make any changes to his position while we were in a turn.
He doesn't. Well, he did once and I fussed at him. He hasn't done it again since.
To be honest, I don't think I'd get on the back of a bike and let somebody take me riding like I take him. Nothing too crazy, but "spirited" for sure.
I guess he's just:
a) blissfully ignorant
and
b) havin' a good time!

Yeah I was young and ignorant too at one time. My brother who's 2 years older than me used to take me on his vfr500 interceptor when I was 14 and he was 16. We got so low on one corner I scraped the toe of my sneaker with my feet on the passenger pegs! It's a great way to learn how to lean but you've got to really trust the guy in front.
I love the dragon I've got two of the stickers on my hawk lined uo=p with the lettering on the fairing. The fastest guy there the last time I was up was a 62 year old on a KTm Duke! he was passing everyone, (including me) regardless of what race rep. was in front of him. It must be nice to retire and ride the dragon for relaxation huh. Sure beats the hell out of fishing!!

Yeah, just keep your head on the right side of the yellow lines! I talked to him for a little while he seemed nice. I also rode with a guy on a Yamaha FZ1 who showed me some other roads in the area. Nice people up there, not rude like the norm down here.
