Vance & Hines pipes

Just ran across these. The price is really tempting, but I dont know much about V&H pipes for the SuperHawk. How do they sound?

Figured someone here might want to take a look at them.

I'm considering getting these because of the price alone, but I've read that they're extremely loud. I don't want something obnoxious.

That looks like a good deal even at the "buy it now" price. The cheapest you could find them for when new and still in production was abour $500. They are the "street bafffle" version. Louder than the stock cans, very nice sound, but not real loud. They work fine with the stock filter and jetting. They are missing the front clamps, but you can get something that will work from the hardware store for a couple of dollars.

If I didn't have them already, I'd buy them myself.

V&H made two versions of S4 cans for VTR, "stainless" and "titanium". The titanium ones had straight through baffles and were loud. The ones on ebay are the "stainless" and very much socially acceptable.

So the street version is tolerable for commuting in town and such?

I get lucky enough that they're still around when I get off work and can talk it over with the wife I'll probably get them.

They have a really nice sound, but not loud. And you can just bolt them on and ride without screwing with the carbs if you don't want to. They look real good too.

I went ahead and got them. I figured for the price I might as well ****** them up before someone else does.

Sorry for posting it here just to get them myself.

Heh, don't be sorry. You just got great cans for forty cents on the dollar. I fiqure the two main reasons to come here are to tell people what you know and ask people what you don't.
