Hi, been thinking about picking up a Super Hawk for some time and figured this would be a great place to start.

Mostly looking for 2000+ years red and black, but will entertain all. I'm in northeast but willing to travel for right bike.

I'll get a formal intro up soon, thumb typing not tbe best, but other bikes in stable are mostly vintage yammies. RDs XSs DTs XJ and a Buell. looking to fill the honda void since selling my CB750!

Great place to start for sure! Lots to look into here, but take your time. FWIW there's not much difference in the years besides the gauges and some other very small things, so an older bike that's in good condition is well worth looking into!

When you get one, replace the R/R and CCT's if they haven't been already and have fun riding. What Buell you have?

Hi everyone. I'm pretty new to this forum, love all the technical advice. Just noticed 7moore7 suggested replacing R/R. What is this? I going to be replacing my ccts and adjusting valves on my 02 Hawk soon. Very greatful for all the info on this task.

 

R/R = Regulator Rectifier

 

Well, thanks for all the offers and suggestions, picked up a 98 Shawk today. 11k on the odo, braided ss lines all around and black D&D slips and new R/R. Plenty of tread life as well. little bits of rash here and there. Spent tonight going over it and installing RC51 calipers and master. Looking forward to more fun to come & manual CCTs and Pair block off. Planning on mounting a 996 duc tail I have as well, good times.

Hate finding those missed items post purchase though..bent left rear set minor tweaked upper fairing mount and a whopper flat dent on the rear rim..
