WTB motor / engine

Due to prior owners bad shifting (it couldn't possibly be my fault!), my 2003 SuperHawk jumps out of 2nd gear back into neutral all the time. Since it's either shift forks, the drum or the gear dogs or all of the above, I'm looking for a low-mileage engine (under 15K) I can buy relatively cheap to swap into my bike while I tear down the current motor and do repairs. I'm in Sun City, Southern California (92585) and am willing to drive several hundred miles for the right price. I'm thinking $300-$500. I don't care if the side case covers are rashed or even cracked, since mine are fine and I can swap them out, but the motor needs to run strong and shift well. Anyone sitting on a spare engine out there?

OR

I would also consider a damaged engine (the price just dropped) that I can re-build / repair to replace my current engine. The key is that I don't want to give up my bike while I take my time to do the engine/trans work.

Hi, I'm looking for a front head (bent valves in mine) or a set of heads. If you come across some let me know.

got a complete motor w/ur same issue. jumps out of 2nd gear @ 5-6k rpm. good for rebuild. approx 20k on ticker, but reads high due to speedo error which we all suffer. Located in Galt, CA.

Hey loserbaby, thanks for the offer, but I really need one to swap in while I rebuild the current motor. The shift problem is getter worse all the time. I think swapping in a motor with the same problem would be a lot of work to have the same problem still.

Hey loserbaby, sorry if I offended your sensitivities, but maybe you should read the original post a little better! I said I was looking for something under 15K miles and I am willing to drive several hundred miles. You're offering a damaged engine/trans with about 20K miles and a THOUSAND MILE round trip to get it. Like I said in my reply to your offer, with the shift problem getting worse, I'd prefer to have a solid engine/trans to swap in so I don't lose my transportation while I re-build.
