WTB: Heli bars

Hey SH-er's i am in the market for a set of Heli-bars. I have new gen-mars i can sell or trade. The gen-mars offer little difference to me but may be better for you. Anyhow if you have a set of heli-bars and want to dump them , please PM me.

Heli's don't make much difference. Get some vfr750 bars, 94-97. work great, look great.

I'll have some Heli-bars to sell in in the next few weeks if you are interested. I am converting to a superbike bar. Not sure how different it would be from your genmars and stock bars. I think the advantage of heli-bars over cast aluminum bars, such as VFR's is in the fact they don't resonate like aluminum ones do, hence less dead hand tingle. I suppose you could come ride mine and see if it works for you. I'm in W. Seattle.

Hadn't really considered it a whole lot. I know they aren't made anymore, but I think $185 sounds pretty fair as they went for almost $300 new. I need to see what I can do with my superbike bar, but there's a possibility that I'll have a nice set of throttlemeister heavy barweights/cruise control to go with bars if I can't adapt it to my new bar. Those I'd add for another $90.

PM me if you'd like to come try it out to see how it feels.

the little alignment tab needs to go, other than that it is plug and play.

I have a set of Heli Bars that I took off the Superhawk. I repainted them silver before I mounted them, and all the switchgear and grips will cover the marks shown. If someone is interested, PM me and I'll check after 9:30 PM Monday. $125 shipped in the Continental US.

VFR bars are higher than Helibars. You will need to modify the bars end weights as well, they need to be flat, no riased semi-circle, and you will need to drill the center hole out to fit the larger bolt. VFR bars are solid and have the "slug-weights" built into them - very nice bars.

I just converted to 1993 VFR bars last week. The only issue other than stated before is the front brake line block needed to be raised 1/2". I drilled out mounting holes, as mentioned and used my cut-off wheel to make the bar ends fit. Also, my VFR bars used the same bolt size (but the SH bolts were too long..) for the bar ends. There are existing threads on this... which helped me to no end!!! FYI, look at my thread for selling stock 02 SH clip-ons and I have a pic showing the right side VFR bar.
