New to the Forum..FS: Heli Bars NIB

Hi, I am new to the list. I recently sold my 1989 Honda NT650 Hawk GT (great first bike) in order to get something bigger and found a 1998 Honda Superhawk for almost the same amount!. I installed new NGK plugs, and Goodridge brake and clutch lines on Sunday. My tires will be here this week, and EBC HH brake pads will be installed at that point. I am planning to install LSL sliders while the fairing is off of the bike. I also bought an Electrex R/R for $20 last night, so that will be out of the way. I may install a K&N filter since the current filter needs to be changed.

Since I have a few items to pay for, I thought that I'd mention that I received a pair of Heli Bars, new in box, when I purchased the bike. I believe that they are $220-250 new, so I feel that the 'SuperHawk Forum' price of $195 + shipping would be fair. Thanks, as this list seems to be full of some characters!

Thanks, I believe that brakes are more important than speed and power. My previous hobby was classic cars, so I really know what bad brakes are, i.e. a 1967 Barracuda ragtop with four drum brakes just sucks. I took this bike through my neighborhood and have to say that I might as well have stopped the bike with my feet. My Hawk GT had galfer brake lines and there was a big difference between the rubber and stainless lines. Taking an ASE brakes class for fun a few years ago probably 'inspired' me to upgrade as well.

Ah, somebody else from "Virginia". Welcome.

Are you actually in WV or just a Marshall fan?

Yes, I live in Charles Town, WV. I am a native of Huntington and a Marshall Alumnus. So, how far are you from Richmond?

Best upgrade you made was the "RR" for $20.... will save you from either pushing the bike 2 miles uphill or paying like crazy for flatbed towing, and nevver mind for a "RR" at "I need it now prices" along with a new battery!!!... I speak from experience!!!

Good luck with the bike, welcome!!!

I'm looking for a cheap reg/rec, from Electrex or another reputable brand.
Anyone found one really cheap lately?

Thanks
