WTB 98-04 Hawk somewhere around NM
Can't find squat in the form of hawks around here so I thought I would post. I'm not a squid by any means so if you sell me yours it will be well taken care of. Had an 02 VFR hence the username and I'm in my early 30's (ouch it hurts to write that)
That said, my divorce is going to be finalized in the next couple of weeks. She made me get rid of mine a year or so ago and last summer was the first year I went bikeless since I was 3.
It's not gonna happen this year. I enjoy riding too much.
So, I'm in the market. I'm looking to spend anywhere 3k (stock, high miles, etc) to 5k (Tasty bits added).
I'm in Abq, but I have traveled in the past to Denver, Phx, Vegas, LA, and Dallas to pick up bikes (isn't the old saying if you build it they will come?) So distance isn't that much of a problem. I'd prefer to pick it up and ride it home so it's either got to have new tires or will have new tires when I pick it up. I'm either going to drive in a truck if it's close or fly in and ride out so if you are relatively far please keep in mind that I might need a ride from the airport or you could bring it to the airport and we could complete the transaction there.
Please send me an email with pics of what you got to KJReynoldsNM AT MAC DOT COM
I don't mind if it's got some plastic/ cosmetic issues, I'd prefer it didn't, but if it's the right deal, it's all good.

It's a bit more than you mentioned, but if you'd be interested in a brand new ('03 leftover) VTR, OTD Cyclesports of Denver has one for $6599 out the door.
Subtract the tax title reg etc that must be something like $5800-$5900 for a new bike with a warranty.

That's kind of intriguing. Might give them a call tomorrow.
Do you know if it's the black or the blue?

Sent him an email already see if he gets back to me.
I was having visions of the 04 hence the question. Something about the gold rims that does it for me.
