Wanted... Wire harness for 2000 hawk- help!!

I need a complete harness with all modules. Also need new gauge cluster if anyone has one.

I did an engine swap putting a 2000 model
Engine in my 1998 bike and the harnesses and
Modules are different. I figure if I'm putting in
The newer harness I will need the new guages as well

You cant just reuse your old harness (remove the old plugs and swap over to the new machine)?

2000 and 98 are the same, your engine must be from a 2001 or later.

edit: and even then I thought the engine hookups were the same.. Do you have pictures or something? Did you get a VTR SP1 or SP2 engine instead of a VTR1000F engine?

All plugs are the same on the engine. But the modules are different with different plugs on them. The bike starts and idled beautifully. But of idle spits and sputters bad. All I can think of is that the newer engine and modules may have a different timing curve? Wanted to eliminate that before junking it out.

Well that is a carb / mixture issue. The engine itself never changed over the years.

Dang it. I spent forever cleaning out the carbs so I don't think that is it. Could be a mixture or calibration issue I guess. I may just take it to a shop. I just don't want to spend that much money and have someone tell me that they can't fix it or figure out what it is. Thanks for the input though guys. I definitely don't want to waste money either.

Well did you synch the carbs after cleaning them? Also do the slides close properly..

And there is always the possibility of PLVIR when installing the tank.. easy to check (the bottom nipple of the petcock valve should have nothing connected to it, the rearward facing one is the vacuum one)
