Wanted: Upper Cowl Stay

hi! my upper cowl stay (the thing that holds the upper fairings, mirrors and cluster) is bent and i cannot get it straight now matter how much i try. Its mode of a soft metal and i think if i try to straighten it out any more, it will break.

If anyone did a street fighter conversion or doesnt need the stay please contact me.

thanks!

ps, i am also looking for some red fairings

PO hit a deer @ 60 mph. Flips, slides, everything. One section of the stay was crushed almost flat. Broke when I pried it open so I put a slightly smaller od tube inside it to hold it together. works marvelously and only downside is very slight vibration in the relatively useless mirror. Toughest part is the alignment of the fairing and windshield. I never even riveted the tube in place, that would likely eliminate the shake. If you have loads of cash, pop for the $100 new stay, but if not fix the bitch and spend the cash on suspension or a better seat! No point being afraid of ****** something up, you're riding a motorcycle anyway! BTW saw an aluminum race stay on eBay a month ago. Went for $50 or so. Almost bought it!

I have one that has a slight tweak-twist to it - about a half inch at most. I was hanging out-of-the box new Honda fairings and I didn't want to stretch it - so I bought a new one. If this is acceptable I will dig through my emails to see how much I paid for it.

thanks for the replies,

it is most noticably bent by the mirror mounts, they dont line up well and its really hard to get it aligned.

nuhawk, what part of it is tweaked?
