How about a 2001 with 17,400 miles... very meticulously maintained and clean. Oil changes every 3-4 months, never beaten, paint is near perfect, no scratches, only one tiny chip in the paint. Located in NJ.

I have a 2005 with almost 4000 miles on it (left over in 2006). Only mods are PP 2cts tires, Racetech fork springs (220lb rider) and a 4mm shim in the rear. Located in Chattanooga, TN. It is in showroom condition. I would say we will have trouble coming to an agreement on price thou. $7800

Yea me too but I have even seen one on Ebay for under eight ecept ragged out salvage track bikes but you did say very clean late model SK w/ low miles. If you have noticed 98 models are going for 4500. Might want to wait till bikes are out of season to get the deal you are looking for. Sorry 7800 is what it is worth to me, Bank loan.

May I ask why you're looking at 2002 or newer? Just curious...

BTW If you go on EBay there is a 2004 that the owner will sell for $7000. A 2002 that has a last bid of $4500 w/ reserve not met (will go for $5500 to $6000). If you go to Speedzilla's website under Honda Twins classifieds there is an 05 for $9000 and a 2002 track bike for around $8000. I myself am trying to find a second (track bike) and people are wanting between $3500 and $5500 for 2000 model R6s that have been laid down or dropped. Totaled 06GSXRs selling for $3500. Maybe my price is high for what you are wanting but people are selling bikes alot older and in worse shape than mine for about the same price like a rebuilt honda 954 rashed up for only $7200.

Im looking at a 2003 rc51 this weekend (if it doesn't sell first) very clean supposidly, with 7,000 miles, Sato exhaust etc., wants $6500. Im getting a little tired of looking for a super hawk, I cant find one that I like around here. I watch ebay very closely in fact theres one on ebay right now that I went and looked at and the bike showed neglect.. chain covered in rust etc., even tho the guy said it was MINT. It seems there are many more rc51's around here so Im beginning to look at them. My buddy is trying to convince me to look for an Aprilia but I think theyre out of range and I know nothing about them other than they look sweet. I know and trust honda howver and know that I cant go wrong with them. I wish that 2004 SH in OHIO was closer! Anyone recommend a good freight? problem is seller must crate and cover and who knows if that will work out.

The Priller is probably a better streetbike than the RC51, though has about 10-15 hp less. Parts are hard to get for the Mille, or at least they were in '02. Don't know for sure now. Prices on the Mille and Tuono can be pretty good. The dealers discounted the hell out of them when new so resale value is not that great. Cool as hell bike though. Good looking and they handle very well. Get an R model if you can.

I have a yellow 2000 w/ about 7000 miles I'ld be willing to part with For $7500. Has Micron exhast, RC51sp2 swingarm, CBR954RR forks and brakes, CBR954RR digital guages, Carrazzeria forged aluminum wheels, and braided lines all around, undertail and custom LED lurn signals in the passenger pegs. the only bad part with the bike is the previous owner had another bike fall against it in his garage and there are a couple of small cracks in the side fairing that would be easily fixed. You can see better pics of it if you look in my posts.

Thanks mr billet but as iv'e already stated Im not interested in spending that much for my SH. One of the super hawk's greatest attributes is the price in which they can be obtained. If I were going to spend more than 5 grand(7.5)..then I'd be shopping in a different market of higher performance bikes.
I appreciate the offers however! Keep em coming - just know that Im looking to stay under 5 grand (unless your selling rc51)

Greg- thanks for your comments. I've taken alot of knowledge from your website. My last bike was a 1000rr.

Remeber 98-2000 were identical and 2001-2005 were identical. And even between 2000 and 2001 it is only minor changes. (new gauges wiring harness etc, but mechanically the same AFAIK)

The larger fuel tank was not brought to the US. I believe that was a Europe and/or Australia update only.

Well, they also got a smaller airbox with that larger fuel tank... so they don't always get the good stuff.

Actually not, the airbox is identical with both tanks.

The euro version did have air induction changes in 2001:
http://www.mcacc.honda-eu.com/uk/en/...ry/history.jsp

I read back in 2001 that the reason the larger tank wasn't brought to the U.S. is because it cut down the size of the airbox, which led to a slight decrease in power... which wouldn't fly with the power hungry Americans. I wasn't able to find that article from 2001 though.

Two people in that thread who swapped tanks said airbox is not a problem. So while it might have changed, it probably had more to do with meeting Euro2 emissions than with space for the airbox.

You may want to look around the site for threads about Cam chain tensioners failing on SuperHawks. Not that all uncommon, and it happened to me and wound up with two funny lookin valves for it.

Now I'm just selling the left over parts I have after I sold it. Superhawk definitely has its issues, no matter how well they were maintained.

two cents

I happen to have a Firestorm that was wrecked, actually it was a superhawk with a firestorm tank. I have been taking it apart for learning purposes but that hasn't helped much. We could all demolish a house but that doesn't mean that we could build it. Heh, anyway if anybody is interested in pics, pm your email address.
