Wanted: Regulator Rectifier not stator
Pretty sure mine is dead. New battery, not getting charged.
Anyone have a used one for cheap?

Circuit, thanks for the heads up and the link. It is the Regulator Rectifier. Now I need to do some re-reading to figure out which is the best upgrade for the SH. I know it's an R6, just can't remember what year.

The three bottom leads are the AC from the stator.
It is usually like this when an overcharging situation is taking place. (R/R failure mode B)
In this situation it damages the battery internally, resulting in exactly what you described.
you will likely need a new battery, along with a R/R.
Ditch the plug too as those AC leads at the terminals are a heat source.
Youve probably seen my offerings, they come plugless unless specified otherwise.
Theres a story about why the regulator plugs get so hot, but thats not for here.

Page is starting to look good.
I've got an R1/R6 on the way.
Thanks for the heads up on the battery. Is there a way to check for a dead cell. It's showing 12V right now after being on the battery tender.

The best way is to observe how much voltage drop you get when turning on the key.
Same as load testing though, not many motorcycle battery load testers.
If it drops more than a volt when you turn on the key the battery is cooked or dead.
