I know this is a longshot, but I figure it's worth a try. I know many of us love to wrench on other stuff in addition to our superhawks and are around lot's of other bikes, shops, parts, etc. If anyone can get a hand on one let me know. The nicer the better, but as long as it'll hold gas and isn't rusty or leaking I don't care if it has some dents or if it's purple. Picked up a shitty old '93 practically for free and it'll run fine, but the original tank is like swiss cheese. Apparently a common problem with these bikes, and I guess the tanks are pretty hard to come by, as I've already asked every salvage yard near me and also done a worldwide search on ebay and also a nationwide craigspal search-asking everyone who had one they may part out in the process but still no luck. I believe the years are '91-'01 according to suzukicycles.org. Thanks!

I have. Came up with about 10 folks in front of me looking for the same thing It amazes me what poor care people take of things. This poor bike... I couldn't make something look so bad if I tried.

 

Just pisses me off because random bikes show up in the junkyard near me, most recently a '97 1200 bandit, an '86 V65 magna (had a field day on ebay with this one), and a '96( I think) YZF750, all at the same time. I can get a tank there for $20, but everyone everywhere else wants $150 for a dented p.o.s. for the gs500. But I guess what goes around comes around-I've flipped a bunch of **** from there on ebay. I just hate hate paying retail for stuff knowing they paid next to nothing for it.
