Spiegler RC-51 Bar riser kit.

For anyone who is installing a different front end (RC-51, 929,954, 1000 etc... on a bike this is a good solution. If you want to look at the kit installed you can see it at Spieglers webiste installed on an RC-51.

http://www.spieglerusa.com/cfm/sbk.cfm

The kit comes with what you see in the pictures plus an extra set of bars.

Upper triple for a SP-1
Steel braided brake lines
2 sets of bars
RC fairing brace.

$225.00 plus shipping from 89130 aka Las Vegas

Any idea if the fairings need to be trimmed to fit this?

Hey Syclone,

I never installed the kit, it was an option when I installed the RC front end on my Hawk. It would depend on the sweep and height of the bars that were used. but with all of the bars that have been used on the swaps I am sure that you could find a set that did not require the fairings to be trimmed.

I sure wish that Spiegler conversion were for a third gen ZX-10R- I'd jump on it.

Also KC, i just wanted to make sure the brake lines are the longer ones for the higher bars & not the standard Sp1 length lines ? Just want to be clear !

Depends. On the Super Hawk the most additional height you can go over the OEM clip ons without additional mod is a bit under one inch. Past that you'd need to grind out both fairing and windscreen. Much over that you'd need plus length brake and clutch line as well.

Hey SP2 you have a PM and the lines came with the kit so I am sure that they are longer. I will measure them when I get home from work so everyone knows what I am selling.

All PM's replied too. The brake lines are 31" and 32.5" or 787mm and 825.5mm

I have put a bunch of different bar set ups on my bike, finally going with a homemade version of this kit because I had parts around. I waited way too long to trim the fairing. it probably would need to be done and don't worry about doing it. Its very easy, doesn't affect strength or stability of the windscreen and if done slowly looks very stock. you in effect are just making the edges of the fairing that sweep back along the windscreen parallel to the edges of the windscreen instead of sweeping out and down as they do stock. Just use a dremel with sanding tool and it is simple and very hard to mess it up. It frees up room for the bars and reservoirs without marring the fairing and catching fingers etc. Overall this is a great mod if you want a slightly more upright naked style riding position.

Yeah, Posting is a year old. Yet if you want the upper triple, risers, and bar. Minus the brake lines(which you could get braided brake lines for a SP-2). I would sell you my extra set of Spieglers /SP-1 Riser Kit for 150.00/shipped anywhere in the USA....

Correct, they were sold long ago

As Dennis said; "The brake lines are 31" and 32.5" or 787mm and 825.5mm"

so getting some made is easy.

I actually own one of these spigeler kits & I am putting it up for sale. It comes with everything shown above. It is off of a MINT 2005 RC51. I also have the nose fairing from the RC51 - the nose fairing had to be trimmed down to be able to use the handlebars. to go along with the kit also.. Please PM me for contact information & photos.
