2005 VTR1000

Asking $1250

Engine needs work.
Front cylinder was losing power. I found that the front carb had a tear in the diaphragm. I fixed it, started the bike and it ran fine.
While I was there, I also did both CCTS. Rear went fine, bike started and ran strong.
Front cct didn't work out so easy. I did not find TDC on the front cylinder.
When I started it there was a knocking sound.
I believe the cam chain jumped a tooth.

Odometer shows 103,000km.

Only one scratch on the tank, Looks great.

Damn dude, my 2 cents-take a couple months and part it out. There's an EASY 3 grand in parts there... if you were near me it'd probably be in my garage already...

 

I agree, you make way more on part outs... Someone will want that tank and plastics just for the color.

 

Parting it out involves a lot of internet work and shipping. I'm pretty damn lazy.
And my children keep me very busy. I don't have the time.

But you guys shouting at me has renewed my resolve to fix it and ride it.

 

So it is no longer for sale?

Already got a parts Hawk though.


Got my parts bike complete, and running for a grand. Had to drive West to London to get it though.


The mileage is pretty high, but yours is real clean.


If I had the space, and the time, I'd consider trying to fix it or part it out myself.
