Silver VTR1000F FireStorm (Superhawk) for sale in California
1998 Honda VTR1000F Firestorm (Superhawk)
30,000 miles
$4,400
Extremely fun, beautiful and rare sportbike! This Honda VTR1000F is actually a FireStorm 996 (non-US model) imported from Canada and is probably the only silver VTR you will ever see as Honda never made the Superhawk in silver.
V-twin torque in the low and mid-RPM range make this bike super fun and very rideable. Great for commuting, twisties and track days (I only did 3 on it, and they were a blast!). Like a torquey Ducati but with Honda reliability.
~Well-maintained.
~Excellent mechanical condition. Garaged. Some minor blemishes.
~Yoshimura RS-3 dual exhaust sounds great and ads a bit of power.
~Steel braided brake lines improve braking performance.
~Corbin seat is super comfy. Also have Corbin passenger backrest -- the bike can fit a passenger if you remove the rear cowl (takes about 2 minutes).
~Gen-Mar risers make the riding position slightly more upright for better comfort -- easy to remove if you want a more aggressive riding position.
~New battery.
~New rear tire.
Clean title, no accidents.
CA registered through May 2013. Ready to go!
This bike is rated among the best used bikes to buy according to Motorcyclist magazine and Cycle World. Cycle World Excerpt:
Basic specs: A 996cc, 90-degree V-Twin sportbike making 103 rear-wheel horsepower that propelled the 452-pound VTR to an 11.03-second/124.26-mph quarter-mile and a top speed of 155 mph.
Why it won: Without a doubt, the Super Hawk was one of the most enjoyable, affordable and user-friendly--but nonetheless extremely capable--sport machines ever built.

It was very challenging to import this into California -- it has no emissions equipment, and was professionally re-jetted with the Yoshimura exhaust, giving a wonderful exhaust note and a few extra horsepower (around 105 bhp or so). This might be the only Firestorm in the country, and is almost certainly the only one you'll ever see.

Cash in hand and M1 license if you want a test drive - serious buyers only, please.
I just bought a new enduro as my riding style has changed; I no longer need this wonderful sportbike that I've loved for several years -- I hope it finds a good home and is well taken care of.

Your price may be a bit extreme. However, good luck with the sale, it looks great!

You have to admire his enthusiasm.
I hope he gets $6000.00 for his bike because it means that the value for all of our bikes has gone up!
Good luck and I do mean it, on your sale!

Quite a spirited bunch! Such sticklers for details too. Honda's published power for the VTR1000F is 109 bhp, and that's before mods. Maybe that's overstated - I've never put mine on a dyno. I think that most buyers are not worried about 105 vs 115 - just a ballpark.
My buddy just sold his Superhawk locally (in Marin) for $4200 - it's a 1998, 30k miles and is red, - we shall see what I get for the silver one, but I think it's reasonable .
Silicon valley, where I live, has a higher cost of living than just about any other metro area in the country; I'm not trying to sell it to somebody in Florida.

Everything is in the details, especially on a bike specific forum.
109 hp "claimed" at the crank, less at the wheel. More along the lines of 95-100. No way pair removal and slip ons adds 6 hp.
For comparison, I got my hawk out of San Francisco also, so location and cost of living has nothing to do with over pricing a vehicle. I live in San Luis Obispo, which has an absurb cost of living, and I would be surprised if I could get $3k for mine, which has the important mechanical upgrades that yours doesn't along with cosmetic upgrades, and less miles. And mine is silver as well.
But if you can get $4400 by all means sell it, that just means I can inflate the price of mine when it comes time to sell.

$4400. For a 1998!!! Yea ok! Two hope's on that one? Bob Hope & No Hope!
But I wish the seller the best of luck, hey what does it hurt to try. He is correct that is a rare color here in the USA. Looks almost as nice as the Titanium grey color. Hmmm maybe we have a new fastest color!!!! Silver?
It's sounds like it maybe the most powerful!!!
Good luck with the sale, as we all know Superhawks are a very underated motorcycle. In a sane world $4400 for such a unique and user friendly bike would be a steal.
