Regulator/ Rectifier

Hey guys my regulator took a ****, i pm'd circuit burner but no response. Anyone have a good finned one? If so pm me.

This is my first bike. Let me be a n00b and all, bur what exactly is a Regulator/ Rectifier and how do the improve performance if you buy better ones?
