Now for sale. Full 900rr front end

Just finished my RC51 swap so my 1998 cbr900rr front end is for sale (I was told it's off a 1998 by the previous owner) but it came off my superhawk so it fits regardless.

Included is:

- Forks: no nicks, dents, leaks, or bends
- Yellow 6 spoke wheel
- Axle
- Black nissin calipers, new pads put in about 800 miles ago
- Rotors
- Actual Carbon Fiber fender. Bummed to let it go
- Upper (brushed aluminum) and Lower (black) triples with stem
- Clip ons which have about 2 - 3 inches of rise but I don't know exactley how rise is measured
- All bearing races which include stem and frame races
- Bearings which felt a little notchy to me so I would replace them
- All fasteners, spacers, nuts, bolts, washers, etc...
- Dunlop Q3 front tire with about 30% left on it

Everything is in good working condition, with the exception of the bearings as stated above. I'm hoping to recoup some of the cost of my RC swap so I'm thinking $600 USD and ill figure out the cost of shipping when I know where it's going to. Ill ship anywhere in the lower 48 but if your outside of that let me know and we can try and work something out since you'd be paying for the shipping. I'm located just above Los Angeles, CA and if your close by pick ups are welcome. As of right now I'm only posting it for sale on this forum to give everyone on here first chance at it. If i don't get any interest I'll put it up on other forums/eBay. PM me with your interest. Thanks!

the forks may be 98, but the triple clamps are 93-97 900rr, which is a good thing.

The 98-99 had aluminum lower triple and different spacing/offset which required a different wheel/rotors.

Yea that's what I'm not sure about. But like I said they came off my superhawk so it all fits either way. The PO didn't even tell me they wernt stock when I bought it. I went to get my fork seals replaced a few months back and they got the stock VTR forks seals, called me and said they didn't fit. I called the PO and he said the forks were off a 98 900rr

the 98 and 99 used 310mm rotors... it stands to reason, then, that the calipers should be mounted 6mm further out (older rotors were 298mm).... looking at the wear patterns on the front rotors in the pics, they don't seem to be wearing right to the outer edges, which I suspect would happen were they 98 fork lowers. I would thus suspect that they are in fact 96-97 units... though I am not infallible by any means....

This is by no means a bad thing. I ran 96-97 forks on my bike for a few years and was extremely satisfied with their performance.....

ALL 900RR used a 16-inch front..... the six-spoke 17-inch likely comes from either a 600F3 or a 94-97 VFR750.....

i guess in theory you could put 310mm rotors on there if the are 98-99 forks. just make sure if the brake pads wear down they do not make contact with eachother

actually the bikes commonly referred to as the 929 and the 954 are still designated the "CBR900RR" which when the 929 was introduced they moved to a 17 inch front rim. but i beleive they only used a 3 spoke rim so your prolly right on the f3 or vfr origin. im gonna do some research and try to determine what exactley each piece is and i may end up selling each part rather than a full front end. especially if its pieces from different bikes which is what it seems to be.

IIRC, the 929 and 954 were known as CBR900RR outside North America (yes, as Fireblades), but in North America were known by their actual displacement..... anyhow dealing in trivia and details, but all non-USD forked 900RR used 16-inch wheels..... a for using the 310mm rotors, unless you get some customs bits made up, the bolt patterns are not the same on the larger rotors..... However, you may be able to use CBR1100XX rotors as they use the same bolt pattern, though the offset is slighly different (as they are are axial calipers, you likely can either shim or trim to make them fit.....)
