BUMP for a really decent bike. What's with all the hostilities in this place. I'm trying to sell a bike that I know little about and you all come in with all your unneeded comments. THANKS BUT I'LL KEEP DOING WHAT I'M DOING!!!
I think they are "hostile" because you are asking too much, and then followed that up with some layaway and "NO INTREST so come get it" nonsense. The bike you described doesn't sound like it's been taken care of. And no pictures. And it seems that you just registered on this site to sell the bike. Since you don't know much about the bike, is the bike even yours?
Anyway, I guess my feedback doesn't matter b/c you'll keep doing what you're doing. So good luck with the sell.

This is great, it's like the perfect add for a stolen bike. The only thing better would be if he had made up some story about the title being lost. That would have come after you gave him the 50% for "layaway" and never heard from him again.

I have yet to find a bike owner that doesn't know much about his (or her) own bike. Brokers, resellers, loan cos., salvage yards don't know about their bikes, owners typically do, from history, service, miles, MPG, etc, etc. Not saying this couldn't be a great bike, but ownership will be a discovery process.

OK, the story is I work at a performance shop in Pasadena, Maryland. MRP Motorsports has had a mechanic's lean on said Super Hawk. Everything that I have said about the bike is what I know of because since the begining of 2010 the bike has been at our store and now that we have had the title to it we are putting it up on the boards looking to sell it. Yes, we are offering layaway, its not a scam. I introduced the layaway option here because I figured it would be a good way because it is the end of the season for people who may not have all the money up front to get a jump at possibly a bike that they like. I also have various other bikes in the shop like RC51, a ZX-6RR race bike, a ducati and a couple others that we are also trying to sell. The reason that I didn't know much about the bike is because I was just hired and have little to no knowledge on the streetbike world. So heres our website and look for us on facebook too. www.mrpmotorsports.com

Thanks for the advice but sometimes it's better to say nothing, it's more polite that way.

being a member of our community and trying to sell something is fine, being new is fine too, but when you join up just to sell something and contribute nothing while being unable to take a little feedback on what is an overpriced bike...
IN A PLACE FULL OF PEOPLE WHO ALREADY OWN SAID BIKE...
you know this thing is not going to sell right?
also you are kind of dragging the name of your dealership through the mud. if you keep signing up for forums just to unload stuff you guys will get a bad name quick (see above about contributing nothing, etc)
Actually....
I can respect what he is trying to do. Giving that information upfront would have been a much better idea though. This is, as stated, a horrible place to try and sell a Superhawk because 99% of people on this forum already own at least one if not several. (Full disclosure I'm the 1% that doesn't anymore).
Nothing wrong with trying though, capitalism is the American way after all.

Very pretty in gloss black. looks very stock with the possible exception of the mirrors. They could be R1.
Barely broken in if miles are actual.
Is it a clean title?
Why was it painted?
Was a proper flex agent used in the paint for the plastics?
The bike will sell better if you decal it properly.
I doubt a sale at that price unless that's done and the rest of the bike is flawless. Even then you'll have found an Ideal customer.

LAYAWAY? LOL, on a bike that is in some other state ! ! Hey BBroc, to give you reference on how over priced your asking- I bought a 2003 all original (3300miles)(one owner)(paint, pipes, mirrors, engine, etc.) for 2800.00 and drove 150 miles to pick it up.
Reconsider -That if you are interested in selling the bike, OR advertising.......

Bottom line........ $3500 is just too much for a '98 SH. Thats before the respray. And there is no way the shop is in to it for $3500.
Wrong forum for that BS.
Oh, but wait, its been garage for a few months.

I wouldn't get rid of my 98 for less than $3,500, but it's immaculate, and has less than 6k, with clean mods. No way for a "sprayed" 98, with apparently no front signals for some reason, that is being sold by a shop because of a lein!
Stock, nothing done to it except new tires and in spring of 2010 was sprayed gloss black, 9924 miles on it so relatively low miles and for the time it was a great bike but family is growing and I don't have the time to ride it like I should. So my loss is your gain. Make me an offer and lets see where we can go from there...
Buyer beware!!!
