The list of modifications and upgrades on this VTR1000 Superhawk is very extensive:

5.8 gallon Carbotech carbon fiber tank, Lightweight aluminum locking gas cap, Carbon fiber fairing, Carbon fiber rear wheel hugger and chain gaurd, Carbon fiber front fender, Carbon fiber generator cover, Carbon fiber clutch cover, Carbon fiber frame covers, Carbon fiber Lower fairing, Ohlins rear shock, Racetech springs and fork internals, Carrozzeria USA Forged Aluminum wheels (with cush-drive), Speigler stainless front brake lines with vinyl cover, AFAM chain and sprockets (44t rear), Brembo radial front brake master cylinder, Carbone Loraine brake pads, Pyramid Double bubble windscreen, Yosh RS3 Stainless exhaust, HRC jetkit, K&N Air filter, Slash-cut aluminum footpegs, Sargant World Sport Seat w/ storage tube, Tailocker underseat storage tray, fender eliminator, Integrated brake/ turn signal

If you could even find half the parts that are on this bike they would cost more than what I'm asking.

The bike has 30k miles (and counting). It runs excellent and is a lot of fun to ride. E-mail if you have any questions

that thing has been on Craigslist for 6 months to a year or more, it looks very nice but there must be something wrong with it? Are you the guy selling it? I think the price is a little high with what ive gathered about Superhawk resale, especially in todays economy- even though it has all those "goodies"..

Yes ,there have been other posts on this bike.. ..maybe im wrong? I would keep that bike and ride the heck out of it..

I think he had a thing for carbon fiber. I wonder what the bike weighed? The tank alone was 1300 bucks without shipping, mounting, etc. Yeah, if I had the $$$$$$$$$$.............

The extra mass of fuel you would carry around in that tank would far outweigh the weight savings of carbon fiber, that's for sure!

you're correct. I would suffer that problem gladly because you could keep fuel levels lower if you were going to romp, and fill her up if you were traveling in remote areas. Also, i reckon there is no low fuel sensor but if there was, I would remove it and insert foam blocks to avert fuel sloshing.
If I had the $$$$$$, this thing would be gone, just for the parts.

The bike was real... It was for sale in 2006 from the first owner. It was a bike built to showcase the business. I was minutes away from hopping on an AC to go get it. I had just finished 30 days of leave and simple could not swing another few days..

I think current seller is the guy that bought it back then if I remember the story right. So condition? operable? I do not know,, but I do believe it is/was a real bike.

it's right there in your area. check it out. the wheels, tank , and shock and whatever are worth the price and then you'd still have a bike to sell when you're done.

That's funny, since you ended up buying the wheels off of that bike in the end.
