2003 Superhawk Los Angeles 5K?
BIKE SOLD OCTOBER 21 THANKS!
I have a 2003 Superhawk that I non-opped due to one too many tickets pushing my insurance into the stupid zone. It sat in the garage long enough to kill the battery and evidently clog up the idle circuit. It runs fine, it just won't idle without the choke pulled out a bit. The only thing that ever happened to it is it got knocked over while parked by some jackass in an SUV, but fortunately there was a witness. His insurance paid for new genuine Honda parts!
The Good:
The Bad
6K seems about the average on cycletrader and is also the book value. The local Honda dealer quoted me 500 clams for a carburetor cleaning and recalibration so I was really hoping to get 5K for it. I'll throw in a set of Jardine high mounts for the right person. I put the stockers back on to fit some bags for a trip. You can also have the stand. And yes I do have the rear seat clamshell.
Please PM me for my number or flame away if I'm way off base. I'm sad to see it go but I can't justify the insurance costs. I'm in the Glendale-Montrose area of Los Angeles.

The Good:
- Fresh Battery
- Synthetic Oil and Honda Filters after break-in
- 8327 miles
- Changed out brake and clutch fluid around six months ago
- Clean title
- Balance of extended warranty
- All factory stock
- Pretty Blue
The Bad
- Won't idle without choke

She's pretty, for sure. Sorry to hear 'bout the tickets and insurance costs. Sounds like you should be taking it to the track.
As for pricing, I'm sure you've heard of Bert's. Last time I was there, they had several new 03s and 04s for $5999. Superhawks are hard to price - they aren't worth a whole lot to the average squid, and more mature riders end up with VFRs.
Best wishes for the sale. That is by far my favorite color on the Superhawk. Too bad it's slower than the yellow.

Tickets came from having a fast car and a fast bike at the same time. The car had a giant wing on the trunk. Sold it last year. Bert's? No I had not until now. Thanks though. I had no clue these were selling for that price.

Bert's is down in Covina. They are a big store, with usually uninformed sales reps trying to sell you the bike with the biggest markup. But, once in awhile, they have "ok" prices.
What kinda car?

Hehe. Sounds like my situation, though I don't have the tickets. I have an '05 GTO, 352hp/360tq to the rears. I just bought my winter beater, a 1991 Toyota Corolla with 211,000 miles! Man, what a dawg! BUT, it gets great gas mileage and insurance is cheap, so I know where you're coming from.

Ya Know, sorry to hear about your ticket situation. I think we could all understand your situation. As to the Hawk, I understand the issues with selling it and more so pricing is a bitc#!! The problem is like marmaladeboy said, people just don't understand the capabilities with these machines. Squids want a sporty racer look therefore we get the shaft in reselling these things. Mine is an 01 w/ 16k miles on it exhaust and crap but I have not been able to sell and it runs great. I would personally buy a bike like that for 5k. Mine is going for 4500 but I started at 5800 just cause it is hard to part with. Good luck with yours man and hopefully you will be back in 3 years when that insurance **** clears up. Keep it easy

Oh, and sorry about hijacking your thread, Disgruntled. We're all pretty laid back on the forum though and rules are pretty lax. Nice bike though. It'll sell. Just give it time. Have you tried craigslist yet?
PS You guys forgot about the '05 CBR600RR that the wife calls "hers".
