1998 Hawk For Sale Tri-state NYC area. $2,500 FIRM
Roughly 20,000 miles. The bike has a R/R issue and the engine is not turning over, all I'm getting is the clickety clickety when I hit the starter. I know that it's a $75 part, but I am looking to get rid of some toys as I need cash for the house. $2,500 firm, no negotiation, as-is-sale. Bike is in great shape other than the R/R.
Never been down, clean title in hand and is registered in NYC and insured. This is an original title, not a salvage.
Tires are continental road attacks 90% tread
Stator is one year old
Battery is one year old
No cut frame sliders
Fork brace
Tinted screen
Gen mar bar risers
Handy industries steering dampener
Sonic springs and fresh fork oil
Other than this you know all the details about the hawk. It was well cared for relative for its age, no issues except this R/R problem, I replaced one with a refurb about a year ago I am guessing and the problem came back.
Here's the ad ignore all of it except for the pic. I hadn't ridden the bike in a while so I didn't know it had an R/R issue. Must have a trailer to take possession as its not starting. If I don't sell it now I will fix the problem next year and bump the price. Bike is in Brooklyn.

Does it start if you jump it with cables?
If its the R/R, then while the battery isn't getting recharged by the bike, it should be able to be charged from a charger (enough to start the bike) or to be jump started from a car, etc. With a full charge, someone might be able to ride it home before the battery runs out of juice (so buyer wouldn't have to use a trailer).

It starts when it gets jumped. I havn't pulled the battery out yet to put it on a trickle charger or checked over the system with my voltmeter. I'm pretty sure its the R/R it was super hot when I had last ridden it and the gauges went batty right before I turned the bike off and it didn't restart.
I've been stranded once before when I replaced the R/R with a finned one about a year ago. If the bike doesn't sell I should be getting in a GSXR R/R from ebay and then going from there after I check over everything with the voltmeter this weekend. The battery and stator are all less than a year old. Granted I've only ridden the bike three times during this summer, this still shouldn't be the case. But I will trickle charge the battery and see if it holds up.
