Thumbs down DocPigskin17

I wish I could post something positive about my experience with him, but nothing really went right with this one.

I revalved his forks earlier this year. We discussed what work he wanted over the phone. When billed he disputed that I did several things on his forks that he never requested (I write down EVERYTHING and if I ever have a doubt I call the customer back). He disputed the bill and we end up splitting the difference.

He stated that he had prepaid shipping back to MN but after a trip to UPS and several phone calls we never came to a conclusion on the problem - $10 in gas. The second trip to UPS resulted in UPS billing me a month later for shipping that was never prepaid, though he gave me an account number. I contacted the member several times to resolve this. Months later the UPS bill goes to collections and I ended up paying his $31 shipping bill. DocPigskin no longer answers my emails, PMs, or phone calls. His last activity on this forum was in June. I think he has chosen to avoid me by also avoiding the forum. It's just as well....

I highly recommend forum members do not conduct business with Mr. Greg Mortensen.

That sucks it never ceases to amaze me how folks take easy simple processes and make them absolutely miserable for others...sorry to hear that.

Damn, I don't get why people screw others. What I really don't get, is your prices are so good, I'd feel like I was ripping you off paying what you asked.

I think of the hundreds of hours you've put in helping people with their VTR's. And that's how DP17 treats you. Sheesh.

U can only hope he goes for a ride and twists his VTR's front end royal. I could happen, even if he hopefully walks away. Poetic justice.

Greg if it makes you feel any better I've still yet to post my wonderful experience with a former forum member who built me a wonderful "it's a straight bolt on jig built I have one that works great on my bike" SP2 swingarm that so far has cost me over a grand, plus the $500 polish job I gave it. Back and forth to him several times, never fit right. To several local shops, more $, still doesn't fit right. Been the cause of my bike sitting apart on my garage floor for the better part of 2 years. He basically says "sorry times are tough I can't help you." Wait he never said sorry...

Thanks that's really cool of you. I think I've finally found someone who can finish her up right for me. It's been a circus of clowns from the start-from the guy on here to the discovery channel chopper shop I had it at last I was thinking of just putting a stock swingarm and wheel on for the time being until school's done but I'm hoping this one works out. Thanks so much I'll let you know and hopefully in the next month or two this finally comes together.

Guys, thanks for all the nice (and not so nice) thoughts. I'm not being hateful, and I wish no harm to the guy at all. I'm just providing feedback to what was not such a great transaction. I gave him every chance I could and waited over 6 months to resolve the issue. This thread is enough justice to put me at peace with the situation. Please don't post things like, "I hope he crashes..." and such. That's not right, and even though I'm out 30-something bucks, he's still a brother on two wheels. If something really did happen to him I think we'd all feel bad.

I was just venting thinking about the "fellow" bicyclist who took be out two years ago Jan 1 who said he'd make it right and did not (not a dime or even an appology, and a lame excuse that things like that happen on a group ride when no one else was within 50 yards of us). For the last 2 years now, above and beyond the cost to replace/repair the heavy damage to my gear and Jamis, I have been suffering with 2 torn ligaments in my elbow, pinched nerves in my shoulder that makes my arm go numb, compressed vertebra, and a broken thumb, all of which make it so I can't sleep at night. I wake up and vow I'll take him out on his bike like he did I think purposely on mine, or sue him but the statute of limitations is coming up 1-1-09.

It's a bitch when someone gets quality work done, then tries to get out of paying a fair price for it.

I would get pissed if the quality was lacking, but in today's world I feel lucky to get quality and will gladly pay for it.

I can understand your situation, though I hope you agree that yours is on a completely different level than mine.

Of course but at the time I responded, with my arm going numb along with the pain, I was just venting.
