Wheel bearings again
Wheel bearings again
So I need to buy rear wheel bearings and I always go with all ***** to get long life and quality but anyone have input on whether that is true? I use my bike daily so dont want to skimp but 43$ for the rear wheel vs $20 for generic is pretty big.
At ronayers.com the OEM bearing that requires 2 is $24.54 each. The other is $35.73. Of course you know if you google the bearing number you find several to many vendors able to supply that bearing. The bearing number is stamped on the bearing. I don't have an extra to look at.
I installed All ***** Racing steering bearings and fork seals on my VTR, but opted for OEM parts for the wheel and swingarm bearings. No particular reason.
All ***** Racing parts are certainly nicer than most generic, unbranded parts. As far as the fork seals go, they've got more sealing lips than the OEM seals and were much cheaper. So, an upgrade for less money.
I think you'd be best off with OEM, but if you wanted to save some money, the All ***** Racing option is plenty quality.

Joe-
Your NYC streets sound worse than ours here in the 2nd City (aka Windy City)
I think I used OEM when I did mine but can't remember if it was front or back or both but back then they were relatively inexpensive
Can't complain having to do them once in 111,000 miles...
