check out the pictures. object in question is mounted to the windscreen. What are they? What do they do?

And in the last pic, are those handle bar risers?

zmaniv 02-21-2012 05:26 AM

Is it a camera mount?

Bandit400man 02-21-2012 07:02 AM

Don't think so, only cause there's two of them, one on each side...but they could be, I guess? Anyone else?

jay956 02-21-2012 07:08 AM

Definitely some kind of gadget mounts. I'm gonna go with radar detector since it's mounted inboard.

Something is printed on the plastic,, Name?

Id guess a set of gadget mounts, or mounts for a wind screen.

Bandit400man 02-21-2012 08:38 AM

True about the lettering...I'll try to get close ups maybe...

Radar mounts...that would be kewl since its a cold day in hell that I drive 55 lol...

Be what kina windscreen would fit in there? Thought it was mounted to one? Wtf? Lol

Bandit400man 02-21-2012 08:42 AM

An what about that last pic? Those risers? Or is it stock like that

Wicky 02-21-2012 09:32 AM

They're not stock bars (OEM has only one hex bolt) - If you took the pic does the bike have a standard front end, yokes etc?

Wicky, not sure Whatcha mean...but I can try an get pics up of the whole thing...but scoot is a hundred miles away in my parents heated garage

Upland111 02-21-2012 12:05 PM

The Clip-ons look exactly like my old style Heli Bars that I have installed on mine, FWIW.

VTaRse 02-21-2012 12:43 PM

Those two screen fittings could be where someone has fitted a screen flip-up, a separate strip of screen fitted above the standard one to reduce buffeting.

Don't know on the things but you have old style helibars my friend, congrats on that one!!!!

rz_racer_69 02-21-2012 05:03 PM

Those mounts are a bitch to get off. They were on my Bandit when I bought it too. I used a blowdryer to heat the glue up real good and used a knife to get one edge lifting up and they slowly peeled off. Be very careful and you won't scratch your windscreen.

"Can the system be moved or permanently removed?
Yes... base units (the part attached to the vehicle) are tape mounted and can be removed. It is best to do this when they are warm. Park in the sun or lightly preheat them with a hairdryer. When the bases are warm, peel them off by starting at a corner. If you must use a tool to start peeling an edged, use a smooth edged tool and be careful not to scratch the vehicle. Replacement bases are available for remounting or repositioning and are listed in the Parts and Accessories link of the particular model page. The tape is applied here at the factory using a special tape enhancer and is sold only as a taped base set."

How about mine? Same?

superhawk22 02-21-2012 05:20 PM

Yeah, look like Heli's, I mounted mine under the triples because I have gsxr forks and do track days so i wasn't looking for extra rise.

rz_racer_69 02-21-2012 05:28 PM

I was curious if they were the "old" style or the "new" style. How can they be told apart?

superhawk22 02-21-2012 05:38 PM

old here's the new style.

Those look pretty stout compared to the old version clamp. Wonder if that is why they changed.

Bandit400man 02-21-2012 06:23 PM

Wow the new style is kinda lame in comparison...great stuff to know cause I payed over blue book for it...guess I got a half decent deal lol

According to their site they stopped making them but demand made them bring them back and they changed design at the same time, looks like they changed materials as well.

superhawk22 02-21-2012 08:23 PM

I actually crashed my bike fairly hard with the old style and they held up very well. ;)
