Every year at Daytona bike week I watch as slug slow Harleys with open pipes get tickets while the stocker BMWs, Guzzis, and STs go ripping past 20 and 30 over the speed limit. I love the sound of open pipes on the throttle, I'll applaud you as you go by, but LEOs pound down the nail that sticks up.
Don't forget to re-jet when you change the flow characteristics of your motor, elsewise that slug of a Sportster is going to catch and pass you.

Noted.
To me it doesn't have anything to do with fast. Think of it like music. To me, my bike is playing a tune as I ride, and I like to listen to it with the volume turned up. That's all.

My D&D's are pretty damn loud. They are 6 to 7 years old, and I guess that might make them a little louder than new ones?

Agreed, i have microns on mine and they are loud enough but still with in reason. when you go with "the loudest pipes i can get" all you do is **** people off. i would go with the exhaust that has the best combo of performance and sound. my opinion.

My scorpians are pretty dang loud. But i'd have to agree with that tyga maggot, that would be F*^!ing loud! You could also fit a nice pipe like Racefit makes, even though they don't make one specifically for a hawk, let alone a V-twin.

I had yoshi's on my first hawk and devil high-mounts on the current hawk. I think the devils are louder, but I haven't had the bike with the yoshi's since 2003. I know the devils on the superhawk are louder than the D&D on my warrior.

Yoshi's are quiet pipes. Chop them! Cut about a third off and rivet back together. Very nice sound then, but not power robbing loud. Reaper runs chopped Yoshi's, I have chopped 2Bros. The Yoshi's sound much better now. I like loud pipes but the 2Bros are almost annoying now.

D&D's are the loudest of the popular aftermarket pipes as is. Open header or open midpipes sounds like a stock car but WTF our bikes only make 100hp or so...funny for a short time but its really annoying and unnecessary. I took all the packing out of a set of undertail wolf pipes and they were by far the loudest most amazing exhaust I've ever heard. Kind of a more musical, more tuned open pipe sound. Wish I could share it

Their customer service is excellent. I had a cracked weld on mine and called D&D to find out what sort of metal it was so that I could weld it back together. He told me it was mild steel, but that it was a warranty issue and he would replace it with a new one if I boxed it up and mailed it to him. They gave me a new pipe, no receipt and no questions asked....
