Trickle Charger.

Trickle Charger.

I have a 1A trickle charger, using it to recharge my battery cause it didnt recharge since I think I have stator issues.....My battery was brand new and I just put it on the charger so just wondering how long I should charge it for.

Read the top of the battery. Should say something like 4hr @ 2amp, 8hr @ 1amp, etc.

Yeah it says nothing at all actually but Im going to just leave it on overnight and hope its alright

Its BRAND new it was put in my bike then it died because of what I think is a STATOR problem...

Guess Ill charge it put it back in the bike and hope for the best so I can test my stator and replace it if it is the case

Hawkrider, do you have any tips or pointers on testing a stator or what else could be my problem, have brand new battery and RR yet its dead......

The battery is not a Yuasa then. All Yuasas have that on them.

Just use the manual for troubleshooting. I've been lucky and never had any electrical problems with my VTR.

Nope its a CNB battery, no one had any yuasa here.

At 1A you can leave the charger on for quite a long time without any issues. I've been using a $15 tender from Wal-Mart that works great. You might try that. I've found that leaving it on a battery for a couple of days can actually bring it back from the dead.

check the conector for the rectifier they burn in side some times

Early model R/R's burn out because they get too hot. Later model units had a ally heat sink on them and didn't do this. Quite often inspection of the unit (mounted on the rear sub frame on the outside under the fairing) will show damage.

I got a Interstate tickle charger that kicks off when charged. I hard-wired a lead under the seat and all i have to do is pull it down and plug in. About a 15 second ordeal.
