strange noise..a have a few questions

hello ..I have a problem ...when I run my engine at neutral it makes a strange noise ...when I tight the clutch lever the noise dissapear...my vtr is a red one from 98 with 19k miles on the clock...sorry for my english I m from Romania

it is the CCT_?but the noise dissapear!

i use 10w 40 motul 7100 full syntetique double ester oil it is ok?... I change it every 3k miles

when I change the gear from 1 to 2 it makes a clunk noise ...like when I put in the first gear

I put a BMC race air filter on it ...it is ok?

thank you...with respect Andrew

It's just the clutch, don't worry about it. The clunk from first to second is normal as well.

A little tip for noises.... TURN UP YOUR IPOD~! They don't exist if you can't hear them.:p

ha ha ha funy...the problem is I love to listen the engine sound

Not sure about the noise but it isn't the CCTs.

Shift from 1 to 2 makes more noise than other shifts. As long as you get positive engagement I wouldn't worry about it.

BMC race filter? I tried one on my VTR and no matter how I changed the jetting it ran poorly at low rpm. I went back to the Honda filter. If your bike runs OK with the BMC I wouldn't worry about it.

No need to apologize for your English. It's much better than our Romanian.

:evillaugh:Thank you RK1 ! In my opinion it is ok with the BMC air filter! The acceleration time response is much better in my case! When I changed the stock filter with BMC I went to the service and make a carb syncronisation!!>))

Noise dissapearing when the clutch lever has pressure would indicate the pilot bearing is worn.
